Pay is pretty low in the industry and for the work you do. Unless you somehow create a new role or become a manager of some sort the pay will be pretty low in comparison to the other companies in comparison with the same sort of work. After leaving the company I found a job that was a 30,000 pay increase. Nothing special about the new job same work smaller company but pay is much higher

End of the day the fun perks are not much to gawk at. People can't pay bills with arcade machines and a beer tap. The company is a powerhouse in the industry. Does great work. Big clients but when it comes to compensation a 401 k and health benefits are nothing more than what is offered at other companies but is pushed as part of your over all compensation for pay but again that doesnt pay the bills. Over the years of working there I would hear it is a great resume builder which it is

JPL is a close knit company where you can learn a lot in short bit of time. But don’t be expected to be compensated for your new skills or talents.
|
They want to be progressive but the decision makers are stuck in their ways. Very few of the employees want to be in office but they continue to increase the number of days in a complicated schedule.

No genuine career training paths defined. Executive team makes huge bonuses, while staff only earns a tiny portion of it. Almost no one retires, but many staff quit, find work elsewhere or get laid off. Roles are meaningless, as they seldom equal an income equal to bring to the success of the company.

Executive team is completely out of touch with their staff. Private acknowledgement of induvial staff is fine, but public acknowledgement is rarely given. You make no effort to formalize training for staff. Your people leave because they have no serious future or transferable skills availed to them. Promises for company growth go on for decades without any genuine growth. You seem to learn how you should be leading off the loss of hundreds of employees.
