Super laid back and fun environment!

The job is super straightforward, the only negative thing is occasionally rude customers, but thats something to expect anywhere when working in customer service! The staff is amazing, they have quite literally become a second family for me, and same goes for management! super great place to work!

No appreciation from Corporate office

I worked in management there for 6 years and I have never spoken to the owner. Mind you, he is at the corporate office everyday during the week. They (Corporate) show no support to their employees. My employees were never allowed to dress casual nor were their ever team builders allowed for me to show appreciation toward my staff. They raise prices all the time because they ONLY care about making money and literally nothing else! No loyalty to anyone!!

Fun at first, then new management changes everything.

Poor management, not clean, and lazy co-workers. From the beginning, I truly enjoyed my job from the start. Until new management arrived. No one was training our new employees correctly, nothing was being cleaned up after night shifts or throughout the day, when a manager was needed up front they continued to stay in there office, and allow customers to be rude and cuss out the cashier including track guys. Many more things occurred during my time there that was disrespectful and completely out of place.

Laid back and not too serious

I worked at K1 for a little over a year and while I was there I worked a lot more than most other employees. Although I never got granted the raise I asked for, I still kept my job for a year and put up with shaky management. I was expected to pick up people’s slack when they would get lazy and no one noticed; therefore felt like I could be a use to someone other than K1

I know first hand what goes on with K1 Speed. I always respected ownership for his development of locations, product and love for racing.
The down side is ownership never understood the BUSINESS IS ABOUT PEOPLE AND TREATING THEM THE CORRECT WAY WITH HONESTY AND RESPECT. I TRIED TO BRING THE "GOLDEN RULE" TO THE COMPANY BUT WAS UNABLE. The business of business is people. Anyone can build a karting track or any business for that matter. Having someone like myself who is senior, street savvy, honest and a real mentor for managers is exactly what K1 Speed is lacking.
For ownership think about this: there is a saying-"You don't know what you don't know" This is the case for K1 Speed. (When ceo's and owners think they know everything you know you have a problem) Only the "Good Lord" knows all!

Horribly Manged and Awful place to work for.

I started at k1 and everything seemed to be going well. I was getting good hours and good pay and fast forward a year later and I'm onlt being given one day a week to work and being told I can get a car and go to college only working one day a week. So yeah this is a the type of place that if you need a temp job for about two months then this is the place if you try to stay for a year you are forced out the door.

K1 speed is a poorly run business the managers are stuck up they only care about themselves and making money that is it. The fellow coworkers are a bunch of immature drama prone babys they love to stir the pot and create as much drama as possible. You are treated poorly rarely getting days off even on the rare occasion of a day of you'll be called into work to cover someone elses shift. They do not pay well, if you ask for a raise they wont give that to you, this location is like a sweat shop you need to be constantly working or doing busy work or you'll be written up. You have absolutely no work life balance its either work and more work with maybe a day of personal time. The benefits and the lunch breaks you are supposed to get are not even a thing if its busy you dont get a lunch if its slow they send you home because they are losing money. Stay away from working at this location youll regret applying and working there.
