Take it with a grain of salt, I worked for this company during COVID, so community was hard to create, and the team was really engaged outside of the new employees. That being said, I loved my team leaders and structure. They gave me a chance to grow and really did care about me.

An executive on the Recruiting team put a Teams meeting on my calendar with no context. I assumed it was to congratulate me on completing one year with KLR. I was not expecting to be fired. When I asked my supervisor, what the meeting was about, she ignored me for two days. I cannot speak for KLR as a whole, but KLR Executive Search prides themselves on “proactive communication,” which may be true for clients; however, they fail when it comes to internal communications. I have never been disrespected and gaslighted by an employer before, but I guess there is a first time for everything. As for the role itself, it should be part-time or an internship. Researching and inputting candidates is not sustainable for a 40 hour work week when it can be accomplished in two to three days. It’s not a surprise why the two previous employees in this position changed roles/departments within the company. There is no room for growth in this role when the supervisor refuses to teach you anything. Saying there are no developmental opportunities would be an understatement. My supervisor is a fantastic person- very charismatic. Unfortunately, she is not a good manager due to her unwillingness to delegate tasks. Additionally, I communicated to an executive on the Recruiting team, and two internal recruiters, that I would like to change departments within KLR because I believe my skills/qualifications were better suited elsewhere. I thought this transition would be welcomed because the last two employees in my role had moved up within KLR. However, I was told my qualifications were not up to par. This would have been an acceptable explanation if not for the fact that an internal recruiter reached out to my boyfriend via LinkedIn for the same job I applied to. For the record, he has less qualifications than I do. In the future, I would highly recommend that management have weekly check-ins with the person in this position (if they choose to keep it as a full-time role), and offer them development opportunities. This role would thrive under the HR Department as the “Talent and HR Coordinator,” which is the vision I had for it. It is unfortunate that I was unable to see that through due to lack of support
