The owners are really nice people.
|
The hotel was a disaster. The construction was horrible. We were constantly fixing things we shouldnt have had to fix.
Conference call after conference call. And plan on working a minimum of a 50 + hour week. All the department managers are on hourly and not allowed to have overtime.

The COO of this company has a lot to learn about how to manage people and open hotels. He rules with an iron fist and doesn't take responsibility for what should be his to own. He is a compulsive liar. The leadership team at KAJ does not provide leadership, they are unprofessional and inconsistent and results in poor delivery of services to the guests. They care only about the bottom line and forget to take care of their people and guests first (who ultimately create a successful bottom line). They do not balance their work and home life in a manner for either one to be successful, therefore they expect their employees to do the same. They have no formal onboarding or orientation for new employees. They basically throw them in and hope they swim, and when they don't, they won't fire them...they will manipulate them and make them miserable until they quit because they are proud of the fact that they won't pay unemployment to those they screw.

You work 40+ hours for next to nothing. No appreciation from management or upper management. They tell you one thing and do another. They micro manage to the point the hotel level management can't make decisions for themselves. Only one person allowed to work the desk at a time, even on 50+ check in nights.

Senior management and ownership lack any type of actual respect for its associates at all levels. COO will tell you anything to your face, or when he's backed into a corner, but will only follow though if you press him extremely hard over and over again. I have heard him say on multiple occasions he has dirt on everyone and will 'nuke' you if you try and go over him or get him in trouble. His personal gain is all that is important.
Their hotels are new, but not well built. Riddled with problems and cut corners (cheep equipment) plague employees and guests alike.
