Pres is a micromanager. Most of the VPs are out of touch and would rather run the place into the ground than admit they don’t know everything. Only FT Faculty and Administration seem to matter.
The Compensation system is laughable. It values new hires far more then current employees and one person controls the whole process.

Similar as other colleges that say the student comes first

Good people that work there, campus is great, There are some good benefits.
|
Human Resource will lie to applicants telling them they can give any more pay than what is first offered. I've seen them give others much more if they turn down the offer which causes an imbalance of fair pay. Money and credit hours is the most important, same as WMU, the students may be 3rd. There are certainly employees trying to keep the student first but management doesn't act that way. Micro Management by upper administration.

Hire managers that can make a decision and that you trust! Allow managers to make decisions. Hire the best candidates, don't choose by the color of their skin or religion. Too many poor managers that are making more money than the good managers that hired on for the right reasons. Listen to your Advisory members that don't work at the college but has the good of the community at hand. I haven't worked under the current President but I listen to current employees and know of very poor decisions that have been made.

A great little place

Great coworkers, Nice space, Lots of windows and nature, a beautiful campus. A really pleasant environment overall.

Sometimes students can be a bit difficult to deal with, but that happens anytime you work public service. Saturday hours are weird.

It was okay

Relax working hours and pretty cool professors.

The management was very unprofessional in the science department. A lot of talks between the co-workers and a lot of drama with the manager. I would not recommend.
