private:kentstateuniversitykent https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=28508 Mar 6th, 2021 12:00AM Open Open Kent State Student Applications Developer Kent, OH Good experience, but look elsewhere if possible - Great experience in web development, doing everything from front-end to back-end, testing, debugging, and some mobile development that's easily transferrable to a full-time job after college. - Development stack is pretty up to date (.Net/Angular mostly), which also helps when finding a more full-time position. Also trained us on OutSystems (low-code dev environment) which although pretty new I've seen a lot of jobs pop up using it. - Very flexible hours - Pretty low stress - Everyone understands that it's a temp position until you're able to find a better developer job/intership during/after college, which is a plus. - Very easy interview, no resume needed, just a couple simple coding exercises and behavioral questions. - TERRIBLE pay. $9.70 to start for what is essentially an internship/junior level developer position. It's infuriating considering that the work involves developing, debugging and testing applications used by either a large portion of the student base or an entire department. The financial state of public universities in Ohio stretches departments thin, and results in fierce competition for funds across campus.
