It is hard to believe that such a company exists until I joined here. Keyhole Software is not just the company with a bunch of consultants working on a different client's project, but also a community of all different backgrounds of software professionals. Small company, run efficiently and employing wonderful people. Management is aware of typical issues for developers and tries to remove blocks and problems. No drama, management keeps internal projects going so there is always work.
|
Contracts are often with extremely poorly run groups with little understanding of how to run a development shop. Work is typically legacy bug fixing and "low end" work and is usually managed badly by the clients

Try to find rapidly growing companies that need excellent developers. Allow consultants to work from your office or remotely rather than client sites. The reason the client has trouble hiring/keeping people is because of their poor developmentioned environments. Negotiate to allow your employees to have better working conditions.
