I am an employee of Tim Galante’s and about a year ago I came forward to him that I was an alcoholic, I was extremely nervous about doing so as I was not sure of what the ramifications might be. Tim was amazing in the support that he gave me, I could not have asked for a better response. He was supportive in my work life making sure I was comfortable in all company functions as well as just caring on a personal side. When I read this review as a fellow alcoholic, I was furious with this person’s attack on Tim’s character as well as the attack on the company. Since I told Tim that I was an alcoholic he and the company have gone out of their way without me even asking to make sure I was supported 100% with my addiction. I do not believe this statement to be true as I have first-hand experience with this same situation and this story is the exact opposite of how things were handled in my case. All change has growing pains and many times those who disagree with that change leaves. Key is a resilient company that has been a big player in the market for 25 years. They understand their employees have lives outside of work and allow flexibility for family and personal obligations. The benefits offered are competitive to other companies this size and they have a big book of business that gives you great exposure and experience on both sides of the business. The people here now are positive and on the same page with direction and growth which is exciting. Working here can be a great way to get a grasp of how different companies function and products are made/designed. Working here is a great way to build a diverse skill set. Upper management is too worried about being billable and making profits rather than treating employees and clients with dignity. KTS does not invest in their own employees. EX: Lays off employees if they are not working on a billable project instead of training them in different programs to help employees diversify their skill set to further improve the company's capabilities. I have seen too many great employees just dropped from the payroll because management didn't want to absorb some costs over a short period of time. If you are planning on leaving KTS DO NOT give 2 week notice. Key Tech does not allow you to continue to work and doesn't pay for those two weeks. They do not care if you have brought them profitable business for multiple years. They will cut costs when given the chance. The negative reviews are true. Positive ones are from owners, part owners, directors, or family! Do the math.. This place is creepy! Never Have worked in an office with so many cameras. I mean really? All the doors are locked and everyone needs a badge to enter, but they still need cameras everywhere including the lunch room. The is supposedly an engineering firm. Why do they need cameras everywhere? As for the work, the only engineering this company does is the lowest level detailing that companies don't want to do and feel comfortable outsourcing. The Key Technical Solutions story is NOT fiction. 1. Leadership is a grandiose bunch to be sure. They lead by fear. Every single sales person from one year ago has quit. The math is quite doable. 2. Follows employees with company provided phones, and throws accusations at employees as if it was WWII Germany. Really. 3. The environment is the MOST NEGATIVE I have ever been in. Focus on former employees and competition is Key Technical Solutions unwritten Mission Statement. 4. CEO hires family members for strategic positions without regard for their qualifications. 5. There were a number of employees that broke off and started a competing firm...likely the source of the bad reviews posted here. One of few companies I've ever worked at that recognize that family time is #1. Hours are infinitely flexible so long as a full work week is achieved and you don't miss client meetings. Clients and therefor work is always changing, so you never get bored. Management is always very receptive to employees problems. Advancement is a little limited, but if you ever want to leave, they will help you find your next job without any hard feelings. Can be a little too much variety for some. I can say without equivocation that Key Technical has provided me with the best experience I've ever had as an employee. The entire leadership and management team has an open door policy. The best tools are provided for getting our jobs done. There is no micromanagement. The leadership gives us the tools and lets us do our jobs. Frequent unexpected and greatly appreciated perks to remind all employees that they are valued. Loyalty, openness, and trust in a family atmosphere is an apt description of the Key work experience. I give this team a five-star rating from top to bottom because they deserve it. If you get a chance to work for Key, seriously consider it.
