Poor management, lack of training, and lack of standards tore down a once-great station

Given creative freedom to experiment, exceptional opportunities to advance in nearly every market you could want; management is not very strict - just non-productive, gifts every Christmas including a $100 GC and usually some electronic gadget
|
Management's vision and expectations can change daily; Employees are not held to a standard and as a result it's a struggle to get employees to carry their weight; Problems are not solved, we are just told they acknowledge the problem and that they'll work to solve it but it just doesn't happen; Employees in every news division are told to do more creative, non-traditional ways of storytelling but they are not given the necessary training and examples to make it happen; Division is hiring younger and cheaper; a LOT of micromanagement especially seen for producers who are called by the news director on their cell phone during a live broadcast; Health insurance is lackluster $1500 deductible you must meet first but you do get $500 in an HSA account/debit card every year
