TLDR; unique and comfortable workplace with multiple positives

1. Great work flexibility: both in terms of hours and location.
2. Good payscale: market competitive and better than most what most contractual positions offer globally.
3. Encouraging and positive staff treatment: even though we are contractors, we aren't made to feel any less than permanent employees. There are regular appraisals (both in terms of position within the company as well as payscale). The senior management is concerned about staff motivation, staff comfort and staff well-being.
4. Freedom to set goals that benefit the company, instead of being restricted to a top-down goal handover: staff members are involved in setting and auditing individual and team goals regularly, which helps people stay on top of expectations and encounter how they are contributing to the company at large.
5. Unique company outlook.

While it is true that most places do not offer perks and benefits to contractual staff, it would be good for the company to consider additional benefits for contractors that have been with the company for a longer period of time. This helps improve contractor loyalty and makes them feel appreciated after being associated with the company for all these years.

Coworkers are great and deserve better
|
* Leadership (COO/CEO) are incompetent, erratic and toxic.
* Terrible business decisions and no accountability; leadership blame anyone but themselves.
* Inappropriate and/or unprofessional conduct commonplace from leadership (including public witchhunts after other negative glassdoor reviews - rather than address the issues, just attacked a highly respected staff member who had left).
* Employees are all freelancers with no benefits, training or job security (despite many being in management roles).
All the best staff are leaving/left in the last year. Imagine more exits to follow. Would avoid.

Discussions with all of the team how to change processes, like switching to remote.
Teams self-organize.
Optimized Scrum and very few time-wasting meetings.
All the tools to develop efficiently.

The size and complexity of the app does make thinking through edge cases sometimes daunting.
Very little supervision means that you have to sometimes give yourself a kick to get started on hard tasks.
You have to write and speak pretty good English.
