When Coronavirus started, they never took our temperature before the start of our shift. When someone thought they had Covid, they told us not to worry about it and to continue business as usual. They use an app for meetings so they don't have to pay you for the time. They do not wear gloves at all locations. They do not care about their staff. Store manager is fine but the upper management is just a nightmare. Run away as fast as you can. The lady treats you like one of her own children, don’t get how she gets away with it. Needs to have CPS called on her or something. Job will literally leave you feeling worthless. Lady only cares about what you did bad and never thanks you for good. There was a ton of drama between the boss and a lot of people. I didn't get paid for a long time and didn't really get to work the hours I had asked for. I didn't get to work for a whole month. The boss is very unprofessional and doesn't deal with issues well. I whole heatedly loved my coworkers and made some pretty valuable friendships. Overall, it wasn't worth it for me. They fire people with no warning and no reason all the time. Theres almost no benefits, just one small drink per shift and a bit of a discount after work, but you can't share the discount. Constantly understaffed, so the work is stressful (I like fast paced stress, so I was okay with it but some girls weren't and got anxiety) you're watched on cameras inside the stand constantly so they can closely monitor you. Yet, some people were really fun to work with and made great friends. The Human Bean is a very fun place to work. You make so many friends and get to experience a fun, fast-paced environment. The training process is pretty rigorous but once you make it through, you're solid. Of course, you do encounter rude customers occasionally, but the job itself is enjoyable. There is constantly something to do (whether it's cleaning, helping customers, etc.) so you keep busy most of the shift.
