The program was designed to function the way it is 20 plus years ago. The system and program is inefficient, ineffective and OUTDATED. Take care of the houseparents and the home team. The office staff needs to work a weekend shift at the homes, to gain genuine insight, understanding and comprehension of the program and system they have in place. A few interactions at functions and office meetings is not where insight, understanding and knowledge is gained. A full weekend shift utilizing the tools, limited resources and program guidelines would serve you all immensely. I loved working with the kids that reside at the group home I worked in as a houseparent. We had 6 to 8 teenagers living in our home at any given time. There was never enough help as we could not keep assistants. The job has a ridiculous amount of paper work that has to be done daily, weekly and some monthly.
