Really bad upper management. We have many "holidays" where we celebrate with expensive food. Worker compensation is decent. -Adding features to track down player activity is a big bonus on your paycheck. -Adding features that track down player spending activities and targeting those players will add to your paycheck. I've seen a lot of gifted software developers come and go and here are some of those instances: -Improving any sort of quality of life when playing stepping into the game as a player will get you fired (Having the ability to teleport to quest givers, setting your deck for your minion, and so on). -Modularizing models and implementing a Fibonacci Heap for loading (5x faster game launching) will get you fired. -Any ideas for the company that reflects positively on the player base like removing the subscription paywall on areas will get you fired. -Making dead features such as allowing pet games to grant energy will get you fired. -Adding skip turn features for battles will get you fired. -Allowing more people to join houses will get you fired. -Adding calculations to a player's account from creation date (Like +13 years to assume the player is at least 13 years of age) will get you fired. -Adding any elixir that cost exclusively gold will get you fired. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 DISAPPROVE 14.0 1.0 3.0 1.0 1.0 5.0 1.0 246079 Open I've done some statistical work for the company and some developments to the engine. It's a sinking ship. Talented people to work with, Creative team and of course a decent paycheck. They do have a flagship that is keeping the company alive and running on it's feet - Management and CEO. Big ego. big big ego. They've killed their 2nd MMO named Pirate101 and neglected it completely after the project was nearly finished and moved right away to chase an unknown market they have no experience about just to chase $$$$$$. Completely greedy even after their 6 failed products. And not just that, They plan to release a couple more in the future. - Their flagship product (Wizard101) has been getting more focus only on the digital microtransactions and they're filling the in-game shop with useless offers, emotes and bundles to purchase to cover the fact that the game is declining in terms of fanbase and revenue/profit. - No straight direction at all. Someday they'll tell you it's time to work on a project, The other day they'll just go ahead and scrap it to work on an entirely different project. For example we were asked not too long to work on a new 5 levels expansion for Pirates then all of a sudden they've asked us to leave it entirely and just focus on making updates for the flagship game even though it was almost finished. - Thousands of unused assets for their 2nd MMO that'll likely never get to see the light. Completely unfortunate as you see hours of hard work from Art, Environment, Sounds and coding goes down the drains like that. - Management clearly doesn't listen to player feedback or even their employees.
