HR is truly on your side. Doesn't feel like a large corporate environment. Generous PTO. Quality products and customer service. Quality delivery service. It is difficult to clarify who's directives to follow from corporate at times. Customers can present some challenges with their expectations along with the overseas delivery issues concerning availability but it comes with the territory. (This pertains to my personal experience at the Greenwood location) - Great pay model designed to ensure you make enough money while you learn the ropes and grow comfortable with the products, the culture, and finding your personal way of helping your customers. - Of the culture, I am happy to honestly say it is the best work environment I've had. Colleagues are supportive, aid in your training (very thorough), and feel like your family. We have a group of people here that work well together and create a cohesive work flow. Also, management treats all of us like the capable adults we are (no micromanaging), and they're easy to talk to. - Generous employee discount to start after 3 months, then an additional percentage off after 6 months. So you're getting top notch stuff for a lower cost than you could get anywhere else. - Time off a lax, so long as you don't take advantage of it. If you need to leave early, take a day off, no one is going to hound you, or treat you like a child playing hooky from school. - Sales approach is not encouraged to be aggressive! We are "do unto others as you would have them do unto you". No one likes a pushy salesperson, and you'll find none here. - Great hours. Once your training is over, you'll have a regular schedule. Your days off won't change unless you specially request a change, unlike typical retail where every week is different. - Stable, easy-going work environment. Some days are a bit busy, others are slow, so it's balanced. Not something you'd typically get burned out doing, unlike typical retail. - Benefits are great, and in wide variety - especially for health - Entrepreneurial: You are essentially your own business, with Kittle's as the provider of product. Your customers are yours, communication with them and developing a client/business relationship is all you, no sales competition allowed (or desired!) - Corporate is very down to Earth and great with communication. I work sales, and was in a meeting with the CEO himself a few weeks ago. They get around where they are needed! - A lot to learn, but if you love furniture, interior design, or helping people find something they love, it's really not so bad. It's just a long learning curve. - After 6 months, you will be full commision. However, you have safety net if you don't make enough in commission, whether it was a really slow week, or you went on vacation. (Don't take advantage of this) - Training, right now, is primarily on your colleagues, as business office staff is down. Management does what they can, and they are helpful, but if they have to cover administrative duties to keep things running smoothly, it leaves less time for new comers. Luckily, the seasoned staff members are very knowledgeable and are able to cover training really well. As well, there are some online classes that are available to aid in training, which you don't really need management for after initial sign-up. The pay and benefits are very competitive. The Kittles management team cares about the well being of their employees and it truly shows. The management team takes great pride in what they do and how they run this company. There are always options to move around inside of the company. HR sends lists of internal jobs on the regular to promote said jobs. The people you get to work with/for are supportive and friendly. The commission structure is great if your already familiar with the nature of a commissionable draw pay system.
