The "CEO" is an egotistical, arrogant, abusive person. There is no way anyone working there for any length of time could give a positive review (≥3) for this "company", unless they were forced/pressured to do so from the CEO. I challenge anyone that knows Robert - CEO - to share an honest review. There was no one that worked there that was not miserable and seeking employment elsewhere.
The foundations of this company are purely based on the ego and profit of the CEO. Yes, all companies are here to make money. But not usually at the cost of its employees mental health and well being.
I cannot give a 100% honest review. The disgust I have for the CEO cannot be expressed here, its not allowed. I can give a completely honest warning: Do not even think about applying for this company, and if you ignore that warning and end up there anyway - remember this post in 3 months. Then come respond.

The people I worked with were pleasant and the office location was convenient.
|
Morale is visibly low. The CEO would rather throw parties showing off than make payroll. Apparently this is common and the people that are still there are just used to it.
Lunch is mandatory 12-1 and you are locked out of the office for that duration. There is no flexibility here.
As for the job postings for engineers, they state they have unit testing, task management, automated builds, etc, but they have none of that.
There is no long term plan for anything since everything has to pass through the CEO that is barely there and very temperamental.
They use the excuse they are a startup as to why they can't pay their employees on time, if at all.
My biggest issue is them hiring new people when they don't have the cash flow to pay their current employees. The hiring managers were directly asked about cash flow and stated that they had plenty of runway, when in reality there was none.

A lot of potential for a great career.

Aside from a few bad apple employees that have since parted ways with the company, we have a great core group who work well together through good and bad times. Great selection of snacks in the kitchen. Being a small company with relatively few employees, there is a lot of room for growth and everyone wears a lot of hats.

As with any start-up, there are growing pains along the way. For me personally, the risk is worth the investment.

This company was, without question, the most dreadful employer I've ever dealt with. They on occasion miss payroll. Do not bring it up again, or you're fired. You don't like the fact that you still don't have benefits, "Quit. I don't care." - Owner. The founder will scream/yell at employees and call you an idiot, moron or dumb-ass. You are not to question any actions taken or that they do not pay payroll taxes. "If you don't like it, quit." I hope you do not consider this employer, it was the worse decision of my life.
