Great people, but decision making could be better

This company's biggest strength is the people within it: the workers. Everyone there seems to be hard working and work toward the effort of doing something good for kids. Everyone is very nice and skilled at the jobs they perform.
It also helps that they are flexible when you are in a pinched situation and you can work remotely.
|
Management unfortunately does not always make the best decisions at times. It has hurt the company more than once. They try to cling to that "one shining star" initiative at the time instead of keeping in mind that putting all your eggs in one basket is a highly risky move.
The rate of compensation could also be better I'm afraid.

This could be a good place to work.

The people are great to work with. Health Benefits are good for a small company. Working with school districts to improve education.
|
People aren't held accountable and there seems to be no sense of direction. Management is lost, and employee moral appears very low. Pay is below average and no 401k match. And the complete lack of communication is horrible.

This company intends to make decisions with integrity.
|
Since their inception, their revenue came from a niche market of library funding in public education K12. This funding is disappearing as districts move library services into their technology departments. Knovation has attempted to reinvent themselves as micro-curriculum solution rather than an on-line resource in order to market to school curriculum departments. This is not a successful strategy. Ultimately, what they are selling for a high dollar is available for free on the Internet. Districts know it and they are not buying.
