Knowledgent was like a case study in how to not run a consulting "firm" - I say firm in quotes because it was run more like a bodyshop. People were hired and fired relentlessly, being let go the moment they were on the bench without an incoming project for more than a week. This led to massive turnover. It was common to only realizing someone was let go because their email no longer worked. Sales people constantly misled clients about projects, existing technologies and how fast deliverables could be produced. The main goal of projects was to fleece clients out of money, using the funding to produce something that Knowledgent could later claim they developed on their own as an "accelerator". Clients would get a barely working prototype and Knowledgent would retain an actually working version of the IP, even if the contract explicitly forbade this. Some examples include Kariba & Intelligent Clinical Trials. This cycle would repeat as sales teams burned their bridges with various clients, leading to almost no contracts ever being extended. Nepotism was also constantly apparent. The two biggest examples were with Kariba and recruiting. Kariba was outsourced to a company owned by a relative of one of the people running the company, who was also somehow employed by Knowledgent as a consultant. This let said person double-dip into being paid overtime and charging the company exorbitant fees, meanwhile paying his overseas employees barely anything. Recruiting was no better, with the "campus recruiter" being given the job without so much as an interview by his father, who coincidentally ran operations for the company. One of the higher-ups was accused of sexual harassment, to which they responded by posting fake reviews on Glassdoor talking explicitly about how great it was to work at Knowledgent as a woman. The facade they attempted to project about the company was paper-thin and most employees saw right through it. No one really did anything about it though, since the jobs they offered were more comparable to career stepping stones - it's better to be employed than unemployed. It still surprised me that Accenture bought them out. Their consulting projects are often long-term (6-12 months) which is nice for the stability of income. Friday lunches are often pizza with a presentation on something technical by staff. Frequently time has to be spent "on the bench" which means your idle with nothing to do except busy work. You will work in a completely different industry vertical than hired for. You won’t have any training support. If hired as a “Business Analyst” your only job will be taking meeting minutes no matter how involved you want to get. They will fire you when you finish your first project and hit the bench. Everyone here is very full of themselves when they are literally the least prestigious and least known software outsourcing house; they are not the consulting group they make themselves out to be. All of the negative reviews are true, I wish I listened to them before I took the offer.
