That was a nice ride
Correctly set process and software development cycles. Strong management team with solid background.
Immense technical debt. Still, the company was willing to acknowledge and fight it.

Great Team Environment
Great opportunity to contribute to a great company in a meaningful way. Everyone works well with one another and each department has a voice when selecting company direction/priorities.
A slight commute if you live in Boston but pretty flexible with working remotely when needed

Great Company
KnowledgeVision has a great product with unlimited learning potential due to the tight-knit small company feel. The ability to be involved in every part of the business regardless of your assigned department/role is a huge plus! Every employee has an equal opportunity to provide input on the product/company. This ability to provide input fosters a personal connection with the company that is difficult to find elsewhere.
There are no cons to working at KnowledgeVision from my experience. If you are driven and willing to learn at a fast pace, KnowledgeVision is a great company.

Great, fast paced start up that is on the move!
True start up, where you can be part of company wide initiatives from top down; Lots of ways to learn more than the boundaries of your role; great management team
Not enough room for advancement, given the size of the company

A solution looking for a problem
(initially) some very bright people and a fun work environment. Everyone was juiced to be working for an exciting startup with an excited leader, even though the goals were always a little vague.
Imagine a shotgun marriage of video and Powerpoint and you have a basic understanding of the product. Perfect for the ADD sufferers in corporate America, but the lay user will wonder - do I look at the person talking? Or at the text information presented simultaneously? Or...? Add to this a founder who loves starting businesses but hates running them, a revolving door for upper management (being a friend or former colleague of the founder guaranteed big money and an impressive title, and six months until their total disillusionment) and a product being redesigned/relaunched every five minutes, and you get the picture... The founder is the Trump of small businesses - never admits a mistake, blames others, takes unearned credit for himself, and plays fast and loose with the truth, hoping no one will notice. (We did.) Needlessly creates/encourages a have/have not culture.

So much potential...
Relatively flexible schedule and nobody will mind if you need to work from home for personal reasons, etc. Most of the people in there are very kind and mean well
No room for growth unless you are willing to brown nose or have a personal, outside of work connection with upper management. The best salesmen/saleswomen have left the company and the current head of the sales team has no idea what they are doing. COO took control of each department in the company one by one and destroyed them. Management has a terrible habit of hiring friends/family instead of qualified, promising candidates. Will give several raises to friends/family/brown-nosers before giving a single raise to those who hold the company together.

Fire those in upper management who contribute nothing or contribute negatively to the company. Reward the hard working employees and reprimand the ones who need to be put in their place - not the other way around. You only have a few good employees left - do everything you can to keep them and build around them.

With a few changes this could be a great place for long term career if you thrive in a start-up.
Great product, great people. Nice perks. Flexible with schedules. Decent work/life balance which is rare for a start up. Customer Support team has a great reputation.
Upper Management needs help. High turnover for such a small company. A very bright man leads Developers but is junior and lacks skills to maintain or manage a cohesive team. Sales Management can be unprofessional and intense and often lacks respect for their employees (many times publicly). Sales Strategies change too frequently and without proper thought.
