As a result, I think a lot of people here take very little pride in their work. The code base contains massive amounts of technical debt that never gets paid off. Most people are satisfied with maintaining the status quo which results in legacy systems that weren't designed well to begin with starting to choke under increased load. There doesn't seem to be any interest from management to ensure fairly equal pay across the organization for similar roles.
