The people that I constantly worked with did not make me feel fully comfortable. Instead of learning to work, there were times when I was told to walk at nearby fast food chains to order their food. A typical day at work consists of either 12-15 hours of work. I have learned a lot from my department leaders who regardless of being underpaid as a department, we get our job done. The management has since been changed and so far is doing a great job in handling the department. The culture, the Samoan culture, is based on respect; making it a easier place to work. The hardest part of the job is being underpaid as a Police Officer. A lot of work and well known experience and understanding but the pay does not fit the work you do. The experience you get while working their is like no other and knowing that you are doing a good cause to help prevent any organized crime makes you feel great. The amount of hours you work is more than you can handle but the work force always helps you out and looks out for one another.
