My career is in a better place after working in sales at KwikBoost. I really enjoyed working with Paul and learned a lot from everyone there. My only negative or con was that some people got hired at the company that were not a good fit. They were selfish, or lazy, or lacked drive. These people didn't last long though. Also...the owners are relentless so sometimes I felt a little guilty taking a day off for sickness or travel. The culture absolutely being one of them. From top to bottom the team and environment is very strong and welcoming. Their is great attention to detail and a first class attitude towards the product line that is shipping to the customers and leadership strives to deliver a great product in a timely manner that helps the sales team maintain good customer relationships and deliver on promises. Whether it’s ownership or VP leadership the open door policy and involvement from key decision makers at the business is extremely productive and designed to help ensure that sales reps are able to quickly ramp up and also allows for the more seasoned folks to focus on revenue generating tasks with full support. The culture also allows for welcomed diversity. This is not a cubicle, hit the phones and make 100 dials a day type of position. Yes, first starting out, you’re going to have to put the work in and hit the phones and prove yourself ready to speak with clients, which speaks to the level of concern the business has for customers and the type of service and knowledge each customer has from company representatives. Being a small-mid size company, personalities are on full display. Some legacy employees have not kept up with the evolving culture which can create road blocks when having to communicate with key departments in the business. Lines also get blurry with th level of commitement ownership has towards the business compared to the level commitment a non key stakeholder has towards the business. Being expected to work past normal business hours and inadvertently being measured on whether or not you stay past the 5:30 closing time is unfair. Commission percentages aren’t great and when combined with a not that great base salary, it makes it tough for more seasoned sales people to stay in the role for a long period of time. In the early days of KwikBoost cold calling/emailing was a tactic that worked well for us and we had several employees that thrived in that role. Little competition but when price becomes an issue, you lose. That happens often, so stand by the product and move on to those who can appreciate and afford it. The company is innovative and on top of future technology. One of the first in this industry, therefore great name recognition and easy referrals. Your on your own. No training. Meet your goals however you do it. Have to seek and find much information, often after the fact. Communication is via the grapevine mostly. Slow shipping. Business plan and sales strategies change monthly. Given territory is never secure...other salespeople who may have been there a year ago with a possible deal sneak back in and close and get the credit and the commission. Management does not adhere to nor promote the basic "salespersons" code of ethics. Have their "pet salespeople". The $ bottom line is all they really care about. I started 8 months ago and inherited the accounts of a previous employee (same one with the negative company review from earlier this year). I immediately closed a TON of business from this person's pipeline. He was let go for conduct issues and obvious lack of productivity. But....thank you for all the warm leads! As mentioned by other reviewer, the company is growing quickly and some amenities are lacking. As I type this though, we have been informed of a kitchen remodel and new bathroom construction.
