The people in the trenches are a great bunch.
|
Lakeland has a toxic environment caused by senior management and one major C level guy. Lakeland would greatly benefit by getting and taking some consulting advice and restructure the senior management. Accounting should not have anything to do but accounting and engineering should hire real engineers. Thy need to hire some real IT pros also. A large portion of people there are not qualified for the position they are in so there is a lot of chaos as a result.
Also, should consider moving to another location. Decatur sucks!

This company needs an Upper management overhaul.

Company has potential to be a leader in their Industry. However the Company is too small due to downsizing to handle the multiple directions that it is trying to pursue. If they can focus on the few things they do well they could be more profitable and a better company to work for.

Most of the team is ready to jump ship, the company leadership is going in too many direction that it has completely lost focus on what they do best. There is a lot of covering up problems at the local management level because they do not want corporate to see or face the facts that they have major financial problems. They are trying to compete in the global market but failed in India and in Brazil because they lack people and knowledge to compete in those markets. They are about to do the same in Russia and other countries in South America and Asia.
