Great first internship experience even with COVID challenges
|
I was a sales & marketing intern over a summer and enjoyed my job quite a lot! It was a great introductory internships, perfect for someone looking to expand knowledge in marketing. You get a great crash course in the company and all of its operations, and interact with multiple members of the Sales team. Overall a great experience.

Supervisors have no people skill. No time for supportive training anywhere on the floor. Breaks are too short to walk to break room. Constant turn over rate is ridiculous. Care only about output on assembly lines. No room on line to function in small space with 13 people 6" or less apart.

Aweful environment to work in. Horrible management and very unorganized with toxic people in a toxic work environment.

You are truly just a number at Lavelle Industries. Management is extremely unorganized and unprofessional. The employees at Lavelle are very immature and drama driven. This is not a good place for anyone who wants to just do their job and go home. The air quality is very toxic and harrassment is constant!

DO NOT WORK HERE!!!!! i was employed here for a year and it was the worst experience ever. The union doesnt have your back at all. They just get pushed around by the company. When you work overtime you get time and a half for working Saturdays and double time sundays if you sign up for both days. I signed up for both days and they only awarded me a sunday shift. When i got paid i only got time and a half. I called them and they said my number to sign up was erased!! They still refuse to pay me for my time. Talk about a scam! DO NOT WORK HERE! they will just rip you off and push you around. The whole place is a joke. Your just a number and a way to make the company alot of money.

The management is absolutely terrible, they don't care what the parts look like as long as you hit rate. The management does not know how to manage. I see new faces almost daily. Tried talking about ways to improve the company and they ignored me.

They expect 50 and 60 year olds to be as fast as college kids who don't care about quality. The older people should have their own line to work together. Let the kids have their own. No respect at all for older folks. There are several jobs not on a line that they assign to the kids and put the older folks to struggle on a line at the whitewater plant.

Turnover. 4 plant managers on third shift, four Supervisors in my department. Push for production over safety and training. They value production over quality and there push is to blame workers instead of problem solving equipment issues.

A great workplace with some great people
|
A typical day at Lavelle would include working for 2 hours, then a 10 minutes break, and then going back to work for another 2 hours. I've met a lot of great people working at Lavelle, some still being friends with to this day. The management could be a little bit better, but overall they were good people. I enjoyed working there for the most part with some great people.

Working in a factory as an assembler isn't most peoples desired job but it is an important job in the world in order to make the products we use everyday. As an assembler the tasks are very simple and easy to do but you have to be fast paced in order to fulfill shipments. Lavelle is a great company to work for and hire just about anyone who is need of a job and shows that they are willing to put the work in for it.
