Unless you are a consultant there is no real training. My manager, my team was absent most of the time. There was no transparency in my department. Consulting Consultant Chicago USA Sweatshop with horrible management Pros: - Peers and friendly, smart, and motivated Cons: - Managers (Consultants all the way through Partners) don't know how to lead - they are constantly stressed and micromanage - Many of the Managers and Partners don't treat those under them like people; junior staff is treated like cogs in a wheel to get work done - Hours are brutal and there's no way to build any predictability into work (don't believe the work-life balance initiatives they tout) - Thankless job. Consulting Consultant Boston, MA USA Not to be counted upon in times of crisis As a workplace, L.E.K. is fairly typical for a strategy consulting firm that doesn't travel and does mostly private equity due diligence work: long hours, perks for working late, good compensation and benefits.
