Not Just A Career But A Family

I have been in the dental field for 15 years, and have worked for companies with multiple locations. Lone Star Pediatric Dental has been the best office I have ever worked for. Patient care is their number one priority. With working with other offices with multiple locations the patients were just a number but here that is never the case at LSPD. They truly care about their employees and families We truly are like a family. They bring fun to work as well such as nerve gun wars, office outings, and much more. The upper management have an open door policy even if you just need someone to talk too. Plus who doesn't want only a half day on Fridays.

From the owner, to our COO, to our CFO, to our HR, I couldn't ask for a better team to work for. They are always there to help when needed and really care about our team. They are always up for suggestions which not many offices I have worked at have that kind of attitude.

It's Great! But... management needs to work on some things

I honestly really enjoy my job. I love my office work culture. We really are a team that makes the best of whatever the day throws at us. I know what is expected of me. Room for growth and upward movement due to high turnover. Half days on Friday!! Benefits - insurance and 401k 3% matching. Free cleaning and 50% off ortho after 6 mo. Thanksgiving day off and 3 days for Christmas.

The front desk attire is ugly and uncomfortable. No one likes those shirts. They don't look professional for the setting. High turnover. Only 4 days off a year (unpaid) so pray you don't get sick. Long days 7:30am - 5:30pm (Except Friday). Office managers don't have a very great opinion toward each other. No student holidays off. Ortho and dental are very segregated and the solutions they offered to repair this were not helpful.

You need to show ALL of your employees that you care about them. Be nice. Say kind things. Stop focusing on yourself in conversations and instead ask others how they are doing. Put a REAL emphasis in the positives and forgive mistakes. Don't just call when something is wrong. Be understanding and realistic about production goals. Consider closing offices during slow days due to the fact we work all the student holidays and production goals not being met. Ask your employees what you can do to make their experience more valuable. Offer career advancing learning opportunities like lunch and learns or discounted classes for continuing education. Change the attire policy.

Nice people to work with at location and front staff is nice and they get along well with one another.

Hard to get off a day and always need a detailed explanation. Also working when at home with family and not getting compensated for it.

There are many Pros I have found working for this company. It is a very team driven environment and everyone is very helpful. The owners are really involved and are very motivating. It's Monday-Friday. M-Th: 7:30-5:00 F: 7:30-12:00
It's great balance between work and your outside life.
