Good potential - going through turbulent times
|
|
- Good place for a self starter to make an impact on a scaling organization
- Frequent employee communications at all levels
- Mature and sound people structure and processes - greatly appreciated as a manager
- Great people and new CRO
|
- Slow product development
- Decision making process takes longer than I'd prefer
- 2023 was a tough year on the company which led to lay offs. Managers still expected to produce same output with reduced team.

-Director and below awesome people
-Generous PTO
|
Where to start. As others have said, this company has gone downhill at a rapid fire speed in the past 18 months. A once vibrant culture destroyed by extreme mismanagement at the executive level.
-layoffs, all teams capacity constrained but are being asked to do more
-middle and director level management in the worst seat of them all, asked to deliver unrealistic volumes of projects and work activities but are chastised if employee engagement scores from their team show that their teams have low morale
-really confused executive perspective on what it means to be a people first organization
-The C Suite and SVPs are the worst I have ever seen
-Product is stale and development is not moving quick enough to keep this company relevant - my prediction is 1 year to irrelevancy unless something changes

This company has really gone downhill.
|
|
Generous PTO
Some really awesome people.
|
Within less than a year, Loopio had 2 mass layoffs despite promising no more layoffs. Leadership does not care that people are worked to the death and burnt out. No room for growth because there is no budget for any kind of promotion.

extremely mismanaged company...run far away
|
|
- 6 weeks PTO
- fully remote
- Middle management / Directors are some of the BEST people you will meet. They understand and have the same issues as the company as you probably do, and they do their best with the little that they have, to make you happy
|
- no trust or faith in the C-suite execs and leadership. 2 rounds of layoffs happened within 6 months, and employee's were absolutely blindsided: Management had kept repeating 'we will not be doing layoffs' and then one day the entire company woke up to that dreaded email
- reduced Loopio long weekends, as if having people work the additional 5 days a year would save them a significant amount of money? They should be prioritizing employee wellbeing as no one is happy here
- Benefit cutting: Along with layoffs, they have significantly cut benefits
- No care for employee wellbeing. I don't know how Loopio keeps winning these awards, but something tells me they will not be on the Toronto's top employer of fast500 this year (2024).
- NO opportunity for growth. They will tell you over and over again they are looking to promote you 'when they get the budget' but never actually get the budget

A Cautionary Tale of Mismanagement and Disillusionment
|
|
1. Decent Pay: The compensation is just good enough to keep employees around, which might be appealing for those in need of immediate job security.
2. Remote
|
1. Unexpected Layoffs: The company executed two rounds of layoffs within six months, with no forewarning, creating an environment of uncertainty and fear among employees.
2. Low Morale: The aftermath of the layoffs has left morale at an all-time low. Employees are demoralized and disillusioned.
3. Fake Culture: The once-promised vibrant culture has proven to be superficial, with team events feeling forced and an overall sense of mistrust prevailing.
4. Lack of Transparency: The corporate transparency is non-existent, leading to a disconnect between employees and management.
5. Poor Benefit Structure: Significant cuts in benefits, including reduced long weekends and a slashed mastery budget, have further demotivated the staff.
6. Ineffective Leadership: The C-suite, controlled by a Private Equity firm, seems disconnected from the needs of both the business and its employees, focusing on short-term cost-cutting rather than sustainable growth.

1. Rebuild Trust: Start by being transparent with your employees. Honesty about the company’s direction and challenges can foster a sense of security and trust.
2. Reassess Priorities: Shift the focus from relentless cost-cutting to sustainable growth and employee well-being. Happy and secure employees are more productive and loyal.
3. Improve Benefits: Consider reinstating some of the cut benefits. Benefits are not just expenses; they are investments in your employees’ health and productivity.
4. Cultivate Genuine Culture: Work on building a genuinely supportive and positive work environment, rather than a facade of one. This includes meaningful team-building activities and open communication channels.
5. Empower Leadership: Encourage the C-suite to make decisions that balance the needs of the business with the well-being of employees. They should act as leaders, not just as executors of the Private Equity firm’s directives.

Not a bright future ahead for this company
|
|
Was a good company to work with once, with good culture and generous PTOs.
|
Bad senior leadership resulted in 2 rounds of layoffs and killed the motivation for the remaining employees.
There wont be long until they do another round.

Room for Improvement
|
|
-Nice PTO (6 weeks - but keep in mind this combines vacation and sick days, so a bit misleading)
-Great team to work with (small ICs and middle managers)
|
-Misguided senior leadership - worst I have personally experienced, lots of siloes and finger pointing
-Preach people first, but don't actually embody this at the senior/exec level...employee engagement is held together by middle management
-Scary company performance leading to a really unstable environment for all teams
