Nice people with good intentions, some of whom are quite competent. | Company is always trying to do too much, but hacks it all together half-assed, so nothing is ever really well done. Projects are never completed before you move on to the next one. Direction changes every 20 minutes. Ethical boundaries are routinely crossed when they benefit the company at the customers' expense (such as with managing customer privacy). Only one person's opinion in the company matters. Expertise is typically ignored or overruled--often harshly in public. The company "doesn't do" roadmaps, specifications, user research or process (since these would empower the team at the expense of the founder). So everyone is off balance and reactive.
