From day 1 the culture has always been about positivity and close bonds between employees. If you have a problem or a suggestion the doors are open for you to approach anyone - from your line manager to the head of another department - anyone will help you and nobody is ever too busy for you. Heads of department actively encourage us to take time off (it is easy as a homeworker to just work on days off etc - most other companies I have worked for dont really care but they understand here that you have to have a work-life balance and will ensure you can do it). People with the right attitude will fit in here perfectly - if you are a person with a negative approach to things and everything is always someone else's fault then dont come to a company like this as it wont suit you. People who thrive here are positive target driven employees who wants to work as part of a team. You really feel appreciated all of the time and the open door policy from the heads of department is refreshing. This is why the company is getting through the Covid crisis so successfully and will continue to grow to be one of the market leaders in travel. From my first day I realised this wasn't just a job - it is a lifestyle! Yes, the hours have been long (the current COVID situation being the primary cause) but there is no expectation to put extra hours in, I simply choose to work the hours as I love what we are all trying to achieve as a developing team, and I have a desire to get the job done to the best of my ability. It is absolutely a fast paced and constantly changing environment but this is because the senior management team embrace change and development in order to grow the business for the better. All directors and managers from all teams are always there to assist - whereas past companies I've worked for have had a very "us and them" culture between sales and after sales, Luxtripper has none of this. All teams work together. Yes, it's been a tough year and some tough decisions have had to be made to keep the business strong, and it has been hard work, but I can see that as a result of this, Luxtripper will thrive and grow. And more importantly, I feel I can grow personally with it! I have been working at Luxtripper for a year now and can honestly say that this company is the most innovative inclusive company I have ever worked for. Working at most other travel companies where staff are literally a number and given unrealistic targets. Luxtripper is a family and everyone is treated like so. They truly invest in everyone and treat every department like gold as they see that a successful company values everyone! not just the sales team which is another first for me. I do work in the sales team and everything is done to make your job a stress free and fun as the focus here is if your team are happy then customers are too. The answer you won't be told is appallingly. They were one of the first companies to make staff redundant, using the pandemic to "trim the fat". The way it was dealt with was shocking & very unprofessional. One employee was only paid part of their redundancy as they had never been taken off probation (despite being with the company for over a year!). Another had gone past probation by a week or so but because no-one has completed their review they did not get their full redundancy entitlement and a third only found out they had been made redundant when they were denied access to the emails & messaging system...no-one had actually told them! This is totally indicative of the type of company they are - everything runs to make money, however possible. Threats are made if you don't reach target of having to work on your days off. If you are a homeworker you are expected to answer phones whenever they ring (even in the evenings if you are not working). You are given a profit margin target but then forced to sell at lower margins meaning you have to work even harder to reach target. Management live in a bubble and definitely have their favourites - if your face doesn't fit, you will never be fully accepted. Time management is also another flaw - a manager will arrange a call at a certain time, then expect you to be available for that call 2 hours later - zero respect for their employees. There are so many better homeworking companies out there - save yourself the stress & go with them instead. Management have no personal experience and unless you're in the office clique. You are treated as an individual and have close contact with management and team leaders. The most enjoyable part was working with like-minded travel enthusiasts and creating beautiful tailor-made itineraries for clients. This is a pressured target-driven role with quarterly commission which makes it harder to achieve. Staying after work is expected and becomes the norm at Luxtripper. The hardest part of the role is the poor work/life balance, as well as the pressure from management to come into work on your days off; so you can achieve your monthly targets.
