* Good benefits. 401K, health (including HSA eligible plans), dental, and untracked PTO (~2 wks suggested).
* Good coworkers. Everyone was friendly and willing to work together to get things done. Back when we were in the office the CEO would come around occasionally just to check in with everyone.
* Relaxed management style. None of the managers were the type to micro manage people, they would give any support needed, but wouldn't hover or bother you if you didn't need/ask for it.

* Volatile market. It's a startup so it is easily affected by market downturns. It's also in marketing, which is particularly sensitive to market fluctuations.

- Lytics is probably the smartest team I've worked with. - If you're willing to learn, the startup philosophy is strong. Experiment. Iterate. Learn. Repeat. - You're never a cog in a machine. (Some people don't like that and don't last long.) - The problem set is big. Real-time pipelines. Integrated machine learning. Auto-scaling everything. Disrupting a crowded market. - The opportunity is even bigger. Sales/partners/marketing/product always have paths for growth. - Engineers at Lytics could run product at other organizations. Each engineer gets to make decisions and impact the product.

- The market is crowded. Building and selling products in crowded markets is always hard. - Historically didn't listen to customers very well, which would result in some unhappy conversations with customers and some lackluster product launches. It also meant that the roadmap was based on whims and could change on whims.

Great tech: possibly the best CDP around. Lots of smart people around, great understanding of what a CDP can do.
|
Strategy changes every 3 months, without any regards for employees (entire customer success team was fired, then rebuild with new hires, twice in two years). The CEO is basically absent, and the company sways towards whatever the latest C hire is leaning too... until they move on.

Lytics takes the time to listen to my feedback. I feel valued when I provide my point of view & when I share my expertise on specific subjects. I also love where the Product strategy is going, and I feel this year is going to be a huge year for growth with all of the partnerships we are building. Also, the generative AI and ML capabilities are unmatched - there's a lot of hype in recent months with other SaaS companies trying to quickly build AI features into their platforms but Lytics has been doing this for many years already; we are now just enhancing the platform with more AI.

Product strategy has changed a bunch in the past, but that has stabilized a bit in the past 12 months (so it's gotten better). Still not perfected but definitely has gotten better.

Unstable funding: From the day I started it seemed like there was talk about how the funding "hopefully" comes through Firing unexpectedly: I was laid off, but even before that, it seems like they like to fire people unexpectedly and then they don't make a plan for how that gap will be filled. Cool technology, amazing non-leadership people, great services organization, data science team is awesome, sales team has some of the best sales reps and nicest people I've ever worked with

Leadership is completely devoid of empathy and respect despite their lip service. They laid off ~20 people on Zoom in groups of ~5 - not even individually after all the individuals contributed. No respect whatsoever. A complete disgrace. They talk all the hot air about respect etc. but they DO NOT respect or value you.
The Chief Commercial Officer Abed Farhan ran a team of 9 people and didn't have one-on-one conversations with his team - how can you call yourself a leader and not talk to your team? He's nothing but a cheerleader.
Sales leadership has no clue what they're doing and everyone knows it. Poor leadership and inability to lead the team is a huge risk for the company. Sales leadership is in way over their head. The lack of financial growth speaks for itself - the sales team never hits their quarterly targets, even when they LOWER the targets to try and save face. It's the elephant in the room nobody mentions at monthly company meetings. It's a ticking time bomb and it will all comes crashing down soon enough - I am "positive" about that.
Their entire "hail Mary" long-term strategy is to get acquired and it shows. This is another elephant in the room at Lytics.
Stay far, far, far away from this sinking ship of an organization with the worst, most toxic leadership team I have ever had the misfortune of working under.
