Looking back, most people were really trying hard with what they had in front of them (management and the rest).
There was a lot of fear to speak out, as most staff were new. If you want to succeed in the future, you will have to be realistic and face those issues.

Flexible hours and great work from home options. You get to work with nice people from different offices (London, New York, Sydney).

Leadership is lacking with no focus or clear vision and a limited understanding of their own products or position on the market. We have no control over our roadmap, constantly building "solutions" that don't solve any problems or add value to our limited set of users.
They pay way below market rate for many roles, which makes it difficult to get/keep good people and obviously does not send positive signs to the market. Major retention problems over the past years with a massive turnover and management is not taking any action to address this. A lot of the leadership team are also dreamers who do not live in reality or know what it involved in designing & delivering a good product. Co-funders of the company are very controlling and don't realize how much they do not empower their employees to do the job we were hired to do.
Often given unrealistic deadlines that cause a lot of pressure for the developers and even though this has been raised as an issue many times, the business keeps making the decision to repeat these mistakes over and over again. Morale and buy-in from employees is extremely low and the Product, while having a strong value proposition, doesn't give any actual value to our users.
Way too many silos, which is caused by bad communication across teams and from management.
Most of the positive reviews you can read here are coming from the (ex?)CEO and close friends reflecting how open management is to constructive feedback.

Step away from the product design and either allow the people you have hired do it or bring in new people to do it. And moreover, eat your own dog food - you cannot expect customers to use your Product if you find it yourself unusable.
Make some priority decisions, you cannot have 5 number one priorities all the time. Put things in order and commit to the decisions. That way the rest of the business can take the right actions based on the known priorities, as apposed to right now where everyone always has to get approval for everything.
Stop trying to find a one size fits all solution. Don't base your entire business model on the hope if figuring out some silver bullet product that can achieve everything you want. Start with one thing, focus on it. Do it well and add value for a small set of users. Then expand from there.

The company is vibrant. People are all very nice, spirit is good and friendly.
Job is never boring with plenty changing in relatively short amount of times, which makes for no chance of boredom.
Founders and management are highly committed and high-spirited. They are always available to listen and advise.

Not a 9 to 5 place to work in and workload can be a bit demanding. But the mood across the teams makes up for it largely and the successful steps achieved are rewarding.

Company is young and growing but agile and people are all very nice. It's definitely not a corporate environment, and team members are required to have autonomy and take initiatives.
Leadership is encouraging and motivating, whilst expecting the best from all. There is no surprise: what is said is done and vice-versa.
Flexible working arrangements are a plus.

Workload is quite heavy at times, but this is the 'perks' of being part of a growing startup. Team spirit makes up for it.

Working at Maestrano I've had the chance to learn and take on responsibilities that I would not have had outside of a startup environment. As far as career/skill development I could not imagine a better place to be. The entire team is extremely helpful and are quick to lend a helping hand. Everyone is passionate about the product and it shows in every interaction.

Any cons I can think of can also be pros, it really depends on the person. Being a global company the distance between teams can be a challenge at times, but it makes for quite the experience working with people from different places, learning different ways of doing things.
