Four weeks of class work and interviews for positions in the Maritime Industry. I have learned knots, overall layout of a vessel, basic engineering, navigate with and without a compass. The final week was a 5 day voyage chartering the island chain.....undescribable. Voyaging and experiential activities were life changing. Working with the kids was worth the head ache. The management at work is on time and organized.. The work place culture is on a board gonna be learning about everything about ships and boats.. There's nothing hard about this job.. The hardest part of the job was experiencing the violence demonstrated by these youth. The most enjoyable part of the job was seeing a youth graduate from the program. Management allowed me to start a new substance abuse program.
