Great company, great vision, great people
It’s great to work at Matternet. The problems we are trying to solve are not trivial and we are navigating difficult times. Nevertheless, the team comes together and tackles these head on.
There are not really downsides to this company. Obviously it’s a start up and that comes with uncertainties.

Great opportunity for growth,
- People were friendly and easy to work with - Lots of areas for you to grow and develop as an engineer - Flexible work in/out office schedule
- pro/con: startup life, anything can happen. - leadership can be indirect at times - company at the time was unsure of product direction

Fun place, poor management
An influential player in urban drone delivery, always working on interesting and engaging projects, great talent and culture, a great place to cross-train and see all of the inner workings of an aviation company.
Has a tendency to loose the most talented people, and won't replace the talent pool, longer start-up hours, a fast turn around pace with a high standard of quality.

Senior Leadership Breakdown
The company mission is inspiring, and the product concepts are stunning. Entry-level up to senior level team members are phenomenal and many of whom I would love to work with again! The opportunity for ownership and responsibility is endless.
The workplace culture drastically changed during my tenure at the company. In my first twenty four months at the company the energy was extremely high, very welcoming, and the CEO was incredibly motivating. In my last nine months, the attitude of senior leadership changed exorbitantly to the point where the office was no longer an inviting place to be. The culture became pernicious and that go-getter, kickass, no holds bar energy that I once experienced within the company died. This was largely due to two major changes: big name corporate company style policies being enacted in a start-up with less than 100 employees, and, the CEO embracing a hostile behavior towards the rest of the company when a valuable MOU had been signed which held the potential for large sums of money to be made by Matternet.

There are far to many bosses at the company and not enough leaders. Entry and associate level employees did not feel heard or valued. The company used to feel like a safe space where anyone could talk to the CEO, however, the CEO became the scariest person at the company.

Not my idea of efficient

Working on new technology in the commercial drone field.
Working with UPS and being the first commercial drone company to make a prescription delivery at the Villages in Florida.
Working with professionals in the developing drone software field.
Working with designers developing a drone hub/station.

Develop infrastructure to alleviate engineering being dependant upon manufacturing for support in testing, assisting builds, assisting in experimenting, assisting in logistics, hands on support, all in an unscheduled "as needed" "static" basis. Whereby the manufacturing technician is tasked by production manager to just "say no" to engineerings static requests. As that is the only place engineering would get support by pulling production technicians off the production floor.

Can't imagine working anywhere else
- Industry-leading technology and product
- Consistently seen the company reward people who have a big impact
- Still feels like a startup even with the team growth in the last 2 years
- Shifting priorities make it difficult to gain momentum
- Long hours and last minute rushes
- Still feels like a startup even with the team growth in the last 2 years
