Non competitive pay, but good work environment
Really positive work environment. Everyone is very nice and interested in advancing the company so no politics which is huge.
The salary, stock options, and bonus are well below market rates for the amount of technical skill required. I would only apply here if you are passionate about autonomous vehicles.

Backstabbing company, your work at May mobility is uncertain, avoid it at all cost.
There used to be free lunch, not any more, we use to have benefits, not anymore, nothing else I can think of.
Poor management, lack of leadership and knowledge on how to do things, leadership keeps pushing for the wrong goals and to unreasonably milestone.
Managers here are don’t even know how to do the job in the first place, 0 experience as engineers or managers in the past.
Lot of layoffs.
Management does not tolerate if you are telling them that they are wrong even with the data to back it up.
Dangerous vehicles with bad batteries inside, I saw and hear about fumes coming from the batteries on this vehicles, be careful.
If you’re a mechanical or electrical engineer, you will be lay off in a near future, go somewhere else where you can actually be valuable.

Get the right managers that know how to be managers also know how to do the technical job, get the right tools, get the right processes before even setting unacceptable milestones and goals, that way you don’t hire a ton of people and then fired them because of it.
Get a product that actually generates a revenue, current product is not sustainable.

Great place to work - was cut due to RIF
May Mobility is a fantastic place to work. While small, they still continue to put their best foot forward and try their best to become a AV company of change.
They're spread WAYYY to thin! They continue to cut teams knowing they need more people to complete their current tasks. I feel they're making it so great people/teams cannot succeed due to having too much on their plate.

Good culture, shaky stability and leadership challenges
Great values and mission, they keep true to keeping to what they stand by. Culture is fun and teams are very innovative.
Shaky stability with turnover of middle management and layoffs. Worried with the lack of marketing innovation, understanding of opportunities and cohesive direction. I believe this is a direct leadership issue, not staff, for not taking needed ownership of the role and seeing the connection of the opportunities.

Amazing company
Smart, strategic people bringing autonomy to the world in the best way possible. Small organization so you can connect to those directly leading projects. Great reputation — love that we work so closely with organizations who need transportation solutions and solving real problems. Not just innovation. Great leadership.
I’ve worked in other startups and wish we moved a bit faster (though work life balance is here)

Avoid at all Cost: Yet Another Failing AV Company
Decent basic benefits, (allegedly) open PTO.
- Nepotism: this company runs about 3 people: the CEO and 2 founding engineers who self-serve 24/7. If you are technically capable, your work will be stolen and credit given to the favorites.
- Primitive technology: they have been around for at least 7 years, but the outcome is embarrassing: funding is running out and tech partners are defecting them.
- Fledgling management: a number of unqualified, inexperienced, egocentric individuals (look them up on LinkedIn) are running the show to serve the 3 favorites.
- Power struggle: non-stop re-orgs and people exiting.
- Toxic culture: natural outcome of the above.
