|
I worked in the Bulb division blowing glass & using a propane oxygen torch to manipulate glass into UV lightbulbs. Great job if you don’t like working with people. Slow to fast paced depending on orders.

|
This was the only family owned company that I was more than happy to leave. The other 2 family owned companies that I worked for knew the employees and treated them like people , not objects to achieve means.

Outdated policies, micromanaging, penny pinching
|
Although has been successful in business for the last 20 years, the company has draconian outdated policies. Even salaried employees need to report every 10 minutes of absence. When company was closed due to the power outage they management charged employees vacation. top management has no appreciation for hard working employees.

Innovative work

I enjoyed working at Miltec UV. I helped build high voltage PLC rack systems and I install several UV curing systems for the eastern coast hard wood flooring factories. The systems were complex and the technology was interesting, There were a lot of hazards in the working environment as system involved noise, RF, High voltage, UV curing lamps, chemicals, and conveyor belts. Safety was a big priority but there was a small margin for error and precautions were taken. Most of the work was monotonous and repetitious. I learned new things but my commute was over 2.5hr a day and pay was low and work was menial and slumped after systems were built and installed for east coast factories.

Not the happiest work environment
|
The work is very interesting, I loved my job and my coworkers.
There was not a whole lot of support from management and there was definite favoritism.
