private:mindflash https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=505778 Mar 3rd, 2021 12:00AM Open Open Mindflash Senior Software Engineer Denver, CO Imploding, dysfunctional, excessive technical debt. Remote work, unlimited PTO (supposedly) , not a ton of meetings, some intelligent people to work with. This is a gradually imploding company with a pile of NodeJS code at its core that is nearly unmaintainable. The company is part of a collection of companies under the TrakStar brand name. After I was unceremoniously shown the door, the CTO quit, the Director of Engineering quit, their better engineers quit, and they closed the Denver office. The CEO is useless, the product has no vision and is overpriced, and the competition is eating their lunch. -1.0 NEGATIVE 0.0 NEUTRAL -1.0 DISAPPROVE 1.0 2.0 2.0 2.0 2.0 3.0 1.0 505778 Open Close up shop 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 2.0 Mar 22nd, 2021 12:37AM Mar 22nd, 2021 12:37AM Mindflash Technology Software & Computer Services
private:mindflash https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=505778 Jan 31st, 2020 12:00AM Open Open Mindflash Account Executive United States USA RUN FAR, RUN FAST Flexible time off (when they let you take it), great team of AE's to work with. 1. Offer letters don't match incentive/commission agreements. Offer letter stated a variable pay of $60,000, however if you hit 100% of quota + bonuses, you are only eligible to receive $27,000. When this was brought up to leadership at ATSI/Trakstar/whatever they want to go by now, employees were told that they were doing the math wrong... math is black and white... there is no gray area. 2. The ever changing "flavor of the week". Focus on demo attendance! No, focus on discovery calls! No, focus on advancement! No, focus on next steps! This not only doesn't allow up to ACTUALLY focus on anything, but also creates an environment of micromanaging instead of proactive strategizing. 3. I was told in my interview that 100% of the sales team was currently hitting goal. That could not be further from the truth. I was also told that the ramp up period was 6 months. People who have been there for a year still aren't able to sell anything because of high pricing for an outdated product. 4. The free version of Hubspot as a CRM is terrible. You are a for-profit company. Invest in the tools your employees use to engage prospects. 5. Morale is the lowest I have ever experienced... at any job. EVER. 6. Mindflash is clearly an afterthought of ATSI. 7. In person communication with leadership, especially when announcements are made that may impact employment status, would be extremely helpful. A leader should have been in the office the day the Mindflash>Trakstar notice went out to field questions. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 DISAPPROVE 4.0 1.0 2.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 505778 Open Recently, it was announced that Mindflash would be transitioning into Trakstar (Seattle based). When asked about what this would look like, we were told that hadn't been figured out yet. There are two things I can think to say about this: 1) if you make an announcement like that, have the pieces of the puzzle in place to give employees an idea of their employment status. If you choose not to do this, team moral will plummet (and already has). 2) I have a really hard time believing that leadership doesn't have this figured out yet. Which means we were lied to. The only reason to lie about this is if you want to keep your team in place until you make the proper moves and then terminate employment. I think you have already lost control of the bus headed downhill, but if you can, try to regain control by winning back your employee's trust. But remember, trust is earned. You can't gain trust by continuing to threaten employees with their jobs, and pretending like they don't exist when you aren't threatening them. Leadership, please start to actually speak to your employees when you are in the office. Ignoring us and pretending like we don't exist is not the way to win us over. Choose a monthly focus, and support your employees. Good luck, you are going to need it. 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 0.0 Mar 22nd, 2021 12:37AM Mar 22nd, 2021 12:37AM Mindflash Technology Software & Computer Services
private:mindflash https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=505778 Dec 3rd, 2019 12:00AM Open Open Mindflash United States USA Antiquated product and poor management. This product lacks most of the basic features and interface of its competitors and is 10x the price. Management is extremely skilled and knowledgeable in processes and analytics, but disregards any constructive feedback or criticism. With odds like these stacked against you from the start, you really learn how to sell. The base pay was decent and provided some cushion from the whimsical commission plan. Flexible time off and occasional work from home was always nice too. Frustration on a day to day basis over the shortcomings of the product. Being at a company that prides itself on active listening, but never really does anything with the feedback it is given. Extreme micromanagement. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 DISAPPROVE 4.0 1.0 1.0 2.0 1.0 2.0 1.0 505778 Open Listen to your employees, update your product to the modern day, and listen to your employees. 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 0.0 Mar 22nd, 2021 12:37AM Mar 22nd, 2021 12:37AM Mindflash Technology Software & Computer Services
private:mindflash https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=505778 Nov 14th, 2019 12:00AM Open Open Mindflash Account Executive Denver, CO Difficult and condescending environment Most of the people on the team are down to earth and nice to be around. You get exposure to alot of different industries and how companies of different sizes operate. Really flexible time off policy. Selling software can be tedious anyway but this company makes it even more difficult and complicated for no reason. Alot of time is wasted having the same conversations over and over and having the same meeting over and over. I cant remember the last time we had a meeting that covered something new. I agree with the review below about feedback not being listened to. We are the people following the process and can see the problems and how to make it better. We are asked to share our thoughts but then told why they are wrong and wont be used even when several people voice the same concern. The manager is a really nice person but sales isnt her area of expertise and the directions she gives are outdated. We are constnatly being told to do things that are our job like close deals and schedule calls to followup with a customer. The directions are also often contradictory to what we were told before like how a deal gets classified is constantly being changed and we are always being told that how we did it is wrong and given a different reason then the first time. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE 0.0 NO_OPINION 4.0 1.0 2.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 505778 Open Update the system so we have a better product to sell. You get lots of experience trying to sell a difficult product to companies Where do I start: - bad product for the pricing - we don’t have nearly half of what our competitors have for a third of the price - manager has been terrible since we started. She comes from the restaurant industry - management does not listen to employees in terms of improving product - you are shut down if you question the process - our of 5 employees, only one person hits goal a month and typically because of a large sale that they got lucky on - CEO is constantly giving more attention to her other companies and is super awkward to interact with - and just a terrible office with no microwave, sink, AC is always at the wrong temp, and never gets cleaned -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE 0.0 NO_OPINION 5.0 1.0 1.0 3.0 1.0 3.0 1.0 505778 Open Scrap everything and change the entire business model. private:mindflash https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=505778 Oct 8th, 2019 12:00AM Open Open Mindflash Anonymous Employee Denver, CO Terrible Place to Work Liberal work from home policy and unlimited PTO. Pay was decent. - Some of the tech stack is ancient (Angular 1, .NET), unmaintainable, and everyone spends 90% of their time complaining about it. - Most of the technical decisions were made by a small group of developers that were let go before they could pass on their knowledge. To be honest, it's as if those developers were trying to pad their resume with AWS knowledge, and decided to use the tech stack here as a playground. - Due to the above, the number of production issues on a daily basis is incredibly high, especially for a startup that's been selling the same product for over 10 years. - People are constantly trying to minimize the impact of production issues because they don't want to have to fix the bugs. - There is no real direction to improve the stack. It's more of a "we'll deal with things as they break" mentality, and when they decide to fix something, it's almost always a bandaid fix. - Unchecked bro culture. There's a lot of discussion that should not be had in a workplace. You'd think a company that makes HR software would value HR in general. They don't. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 DISAPPROVE 4.0 2.0 4.0 1.0 1.0 4.0 2.0 505778 Open Stop making new features, start overhauling and simplifying your stack. Management seems to be able to roll up their sleeves and get work done. I think the new team that's being assembled is invigorating and setting us up for success. Some internal ambiguity on roles. You have to enter at least five words for the pro's. Unfortunately I can't really think of anything good to say about working here. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Very toxic work environment, full of liars, backstabbers, and people who engage in office politics instead of their jobs. As a consequence they lost ~40% of their engineering staff in 2017 including several long time employees.
