The hours are extremely flexible. As long as you are available during a core set of hours, you can start and finish your hours however you like. And available doesn't always mean onsite.
Management is extremely reasonable when understanding work load and timeline. They often ask how they can help to make things easier or to meet a timeline. Including the CEO who on more than one occasion has rolled up his sleeves and pulled up the carpet to help me with completing a project.
The Core Values are stated and lived by. No hypocrites here!
The people are great! I enjoy working with everyone and we have a great time together at work as well as corporate events and happy hours. We encourage and support each other in all things.
They encourage health and fitness. They provide stand-up desks to whomever wants one and have no problem with people sitting on exercise balls. There is gym in the building and an exercise bike, free weights and a chin-up/pull-up bar in the office.
They have great referral fees for business and new talent and certification reimbursement.
They recognize talent, pay accordingly, and promote from within whenever possible.
I could go on forever, but I think you get the point...I'm retiring from here.

Management cares about employees.
There is a clear path to advance in your position (if you are interested).
The pay is more than fair.
On a regular basis, I'm asked if I like what I'm doing.
Hard work is both recognized and rewarded.
The pace is fast and the projects are diverse. Personal growth happens on its own. I'm a much better developer now than I was when I was hired.
The fast pace and diverse nature of the projects can be challenging. It does foster growth, but it can be difficult constantly changing stacks. It's really hard to call this a con -- mostly calling this out because I've met developers throughout my career who only want to do one thing. In my experience, that attitude isn't a good fit with this organization. You have to be willing to stretch, but as I mentioned earlier in this section, your hard work will be rewarded. For what it's worth, I'm sure if you went to management and told them you were overwhelmed by the pace that they would alleviate the burden and work with you.
Co-workers are AWESOME! Everyone here is super nice to work with, friendly and encouraging. All around good people, from the front desk up to the CEO.
It's a great place to work!

Genuine employer where employees matter as much as clients

I’ve been at Mind Over Machines (MOM) for the last two years and I am grateful to work for a company that measures success by its employees’ well-being and growth. I started as an intern who career changed from teaching middle school; MOM believed my teacher background would be an asset in consulting and my lacking technical ability could grow from mentorship. The fact a career-changing intern could come on the team full-time is a testament to the company’s encouragement of professional growth, creativity, and collaboration.
I’m surrounded by seasoned and novice developers, architects and sales personal who are willing to aid me on any task and vice-versa. I’m a fairly outgoing individual and it’s nice to work in an office where peers socialize and there’s a sense of comradery. The HR team makes an effort to not only hire on technical ability, but general disposition and likability.

The nature of consulting does not lend itself to coasting on the familiarity of one tech stack and working alone. I do have to take occasional personal time to expand my knowledge or learn a new stack. Fortunately, MOM offers bonuses for completing certificates and pays for learning materials. On occasion the the work week requires more than 40 hours if there's a large deployment or some tech issue that needs immediate resolution.

Improve the processes for how supplies are distributed. It was unclear when I was hired how to obtain the latest version of Visual Studio or a license for Windows 10. Furthermore, we need more personnel with admin privileges to source control. Those that have it are usually off site. I’ll make sure the admin here read this comment so the next review debunks it. There could also be healthier options in the snack room (They did start purchasing fruit a month ago though :)
