Worker bees are cool and thoughtful towards each other. The company has no North Star. They have been around awhile and have not evolved, grown the same rate as the market, expanded markets, nor thrived and I know why. San Diego, CA Good culture, but a lot of turnover and uncertainty MindTouch has a great culture with a pretty good set perks and an amazing downtown office (except they only reimburse about 1/3 of your monthly parking fees). The work environment is pretty casual and relatively stress-free. Most of the people are friendly and smart and professional. There is a lot of turnover at MindTouch. People are constantly leaving (or getting fired), which really makes it difficult to build any sort of continuity and momentum. People come and go and the strategy and plans keep changing. San Diego, CA An organization that rewards tenacity Product is not "garbage", but any reviewer who would make that comment can stay in their limited role and complain. I ask that you please move aside for someone who actually does something. Indeed, senior engineering and devops individuals are among the finest in the industry. Too bad we're not 100% open sourced, there are some wonderful technical solutions in our codebase. If you are interested in working with Serverless API's, Docker/Kubernetes, data and analytics pipelines, building and training ML models, intense security, identity, and access management controls, and progressive web apps -- you'll probably want to entertain a career as a developer here. The vice presidents of both engineering and product are relatively new in their roles here, but have both experienced enough success and failures in their careers before MindTouch to run their departments with no ego. The engineering team is particularly supportive of each other, and participates in a "no blame" culture when things don't go right. No one is thrown under the bus. If you don't subscribe to the philosophy of "don't ask for permission, ask for forgiveness", you will find yourself on the outside of most tactical decision making here. If you expect to settle comfortably into an organization transitioning from startup to growth and wait for opportunities or promotions, you'll be very disappointed. Individuals put into the management role has been hit and miss for a number of years, as indicated by other Glassdoor reviews (naturally, on Glassdoor one expects an unsatisfactory manager experience to be attributed to all of "management"). Before MindTouch hired experienced directors, most managers were not given the tools or training to be successful. A mentorship program for those aspiring to be team leads or managers would be valuable. Marketing message needs to focus on what makes MindTouch different from knowledgebases. And the main devops guy is the finest in the industry. Management is a complete joke. Total lack of training and unfulfilled promises. High employee turnover. No 401(k) match and very pricey medical coverage for family members. Completely lacking in empathy. Product sells somehow, but it is garbage. Don’t see them lasting much longer in an era of AI/ML.
