Ministry of Supply has developed a start-up tech company mentality, and is a great place to join if you're looking to be challenged in your work and pushed to think creatively and innovatively. The environment is very fast paced and collaborative, so it doesn't quite matter which department or location you belong to - you'll have a chance to work with everyone!
The team is quite lean, and so everyone "wears many hats." I really enjoy working with a small team, because it allows me more opportunities to join in on projects I wouldn't ordinarily be exposed to in a larger organization with more siloed and distinct roles. Additionally, the small team allows for stronger communication and transparency. It doesn't matter if you're working in a retail store, working remote, or seated at HQ - everyone has a direct line to management and the two founders are just a slack message away.
The people who thrive here are the ones who are comfortable working autonomously, are self-disciplined, and have considerable ingenuity.
Culture-wise, it is great! It's a really fun, high energy, and social place to work. I've made quite a few friends here, and it's made adjusting to a new city less difficult.

Good job for beginners and those who are in a pinch

Its a small company with nice people who will constantly praise you for your work. Though there is little chance of moving up, getting raises, and becoming full time. You will have to be open to rapid change so do not come with a one way attitude and do not expect to get comfortable. You are more than a sales associate so be prepared to do things beyond selling.

Nice Company but needs an immense amount of improvement
|
Ministry was a great place to work in the beginning. Although once the Summer of 2017 approached they began to let go of a lot of employees from both of the DC-shaw location and Bethesda. It was like a distasteful domino effect. Everyone that started out in the beginning were completely trashed! It was clear that MOS wasn't doing so well in the financial department either.

Daily work as a Retail associate at Ministry of supply is typical of the retail industry. Duties include light cleaning, customer service, stock managemnet, and some logistics. Management is usually flexible and accomodating. The company still has a "start-up" mentality. A lot of indpendence is given, but at the same time standards and best prctices are still being developed.
