Worst Experience I have had a company

Honestly, the only positive item I can think of is Compensation but from my understanding is that my old positions pay is being cut as well.
|
Upper management spends more time pitting others against each other and causing drama than actually being helpful. I can attest to the other reviews on here about issues with upper management, lets just say that there a few people on the leadership team that should retire or leave due to their management practices, This company is well versed in "Quiet Firing" when they don't get what they want. Main ownership that Mission Rock works with is: Unrealistic, Unreasonable and expects miracles to happen with a poorly made budget from a Mission Rock Higher up that did not do his research when it came to the area. Also, HR higher ups are overpaid for what they provide and it is very apparent that they "work for the company and not the employee."

You have a lot of people in upper management (Specifically on the West Coast side) that are bitter, complacent, drama filled and vindictive to others. The only advice that I could give is a restructuring of the upper management as it looks like they have become very comfortable in their positions. The reason that I put Business outlook as positive is due to the fact that it is apparent that this company only cares about profits and not people. Please do not contact me as there is nothing to discuss.

Its Great! But not Perfect...

If you are interested in growth and moving up, this company will help you from the moment you start till you reach your goal. There is always room for growth, promotions seem to be happening on a monthly basis in so many different properties. I like that they send out monthly emails to all the employees throughout the company of everyone who got promoted and their new position. I know not everyone lucks out with a good team and caring coworkers; it's not always going to be perfect. It's important to speak out when things aren't right, your property manager & regional manager should take care of you if you go to them for help. Mission Rock for the most part pays well once you are promoted. They are inclusive with everyone and everything going on in the world which in my opinion isn't the best thing, but everyone has their own view that I respect. I don't support everything they post about on their company site, but I will say they cover almost everything (even a few religious things to keep it almost equal). As long as it's not forced on me, great!

The biggest downside I experienced is the minimal 3% raise given each year & how they have started other employees in the same position as myself with ZERO experience at a higher rate in the same office as I was in. I get each property has its own budget, but if its someone working next me, match the rate the next time we get a raise or more. (I had 5 years' experience at that time). It kind of makes the company look cheap, the bonus isnt the best but only recently updated the commission by $30 more. Hey something is better then nothing! It was definitely mind blowing that they didn't think the person who has been there for a couple years with experience only gets the minimal meanwhile someone new gets the high new rate. It was also a con at the time being a leasing agent how I couldn't get weekends off, I was specifically told by my manager to try to not ask for Saturdays off. Do they think we do not have a life outside of work? IF we want a weekend off, we have to find our own coverage, if everyone you ask (including your personal team members at your worksite) says no. You are stuck working and not getting one weekend day off for that one Graduation or baby shower. There was alot of missed family events. Luckily my new position allows me to enjoy my weekends, and I know will treat my leasing agent with compassion knowing that I can help cover a day here and there, so she doesn't have feel stuck at work. The bonus structure as an assistant manager is kind of difficult too, if certain percentage of people don't pay rent you lose half to all of your bonus for the month. I cannot force someone to pay if they literally do not have the funds. It should be based off more than that and work put into working with residents to pay by a deadline. I get it, it's a business! It is what it is.

I highly recommend floating leasing agents, or floating anyone for that matter for those who do have to work weekends and deserve one Saturday off. It's not worth missing family/friend events because no one wants to help and cover you one day for 8 hours. It's not like its every weekend thing. Work is great, but it shouldn't be everything occupying your time. It needs to be easier to ask for a day off when you have the time saved up. Think of the employees who have been working great for you and deserve a real raise, especially if someone new came in. Match the rate or give them what they deserve.
