The culture was good and having dogs in the office was great! I had a strong mentor and access to some amazing clients. I learnt a lot! It wasn't a great environment if you weren't strong enough in recruitment to manage your self so Juniors struggled. Unlimited PTO, super collaborative teams, leave-your-ego-at-the-door environment, laid back but helpful managers, fun office events, and an outstanding group of people that you enjoy seeing everyday. A recruiting agency that truly does not feel like an agency at all; they have done an excellent job creating a strong culture of fun meshed with the ability to grind when needed. Plenty of room to grow and learn for people who are just starting out in recruiting. Good opportunity to work with some well-known technology companies and VC firms. Start up environment = not everything has a formal structure, but this also creates plenty of room for improvement when people take the initiative to change things. They have embraced the concepts of Talent Mapping and Pooling, as well as Agile. It's a great springboard for an Exec search career or moving internal: many former employees have joined renowned companies (e.g. Apple, Atlassian, AWS, etc) - Among the majority of cut-throat greedy agencies led by shallow incompetent old fashioned managers, MitchelLake are definitely a stand out / hidden gem - No HR. The People & Culture environment is not on their agenda. As long as you go out for drinks with managers, you're safe.. and can even get away with murder. Abusive behaviours are totally acceptable / tolerated - Inconsistency in the quality of hire. There were some really talented people in the team: some talented in recruitment, others in playing table tennis or watching YouTube.. 1.0 POSITIVE 0.0 NEUTRAL 4.0 4.0 4.0 2.0 5.0 4.0 2.0 993047 Open - Lack of commitment / presence of founders - Managers are left on their own to hold the helm - Lack of vision / strategy: we barely had a goal set for the quarter, thus not even worth mentioning the latter; priorities kept changing - You let go of your best asset: after providing quality on-the-job training, growing your people into recognised Talent Acquisition specialists, you miss on providing with recognition and a career progression plan, and they end up joining your very clients! Which subsequently cuts MitchelLake off some substantial business.
