Extremely fast paced company on steriods
|

These guys develop, construct, shift, and build out new business models very very quickly. The company is beast... manufacturing, robotics, production, logistics, and their specialty being ecommerce all over the world. I've been here 9 months and I still do not know all the business divisions that these guys have and facilities in multiple countries, it's nuts. From manufacturing Lamps to fully automatic machines they built for 3ply and N95 face masks in months during the pandemic to pinatas! They also distribute products for Ninja, Philips, and I think Hisense among other brands. Extremely fast-paced learning which makes me feel like my previous jobs were holding me back in time. These guys move quickly from project to project! I met the CEO a few times and the guy is extremely intelligent. He understands software like nobody I've ever met, but also understands the hardware, mechanics, and robotics. A true Elon Musk style engineer but seems to be a fantastic businessman as well and not as nerdy! I think he is the driver of a great place to work so far.

The work pace is so fast that sometimes you don't sleep due to the pressure to improve or make things work better the next day. The pay may not match the responsibility at times, but I have definitely been catapulted to a whole new level with these guys.
Mexico manufacturing facility has been outgrown so there are too many divisions crammed together.

*Company is very flexible towards schedules, making it a very student friendly company.
*There is no discrimination towards people with tattoos and/or piercings, as long as everyone sticks to the rules the choice in personal style is non relevant.
*Being a small company makes it easy to approach managers with confidence.
*CEO is very involved with how things are being run, he is a very down to earth guy that tries to keep everyone feeling important, whatever their task is.
*Lots of growth opportunity.

*Some areas need to be better organized in order for everything to flow properly.
*A lot of tasks that should belong to specific departments tend to be thrown to other departments that aren't necessarily familiar with them..
*Still a lot of bureaucracy for simple things such as over time, we used to have a simpler email system but now it's a paper format, which is not properly made. Employee evaluations are not handed to area managers in a timely manner, payroll usually has errors. I think HR has the most areas of opportunity.
*They implemented wearing color coded vests for different areas, which is fine for production or cleaning personnel, not necessarily for the rest of office employees.

Ditch unnecessary spending (ie. vests, paper formats, etc), have a well established organization chart so everyone knows who is who in the company, let's be fair with lunch times (some people take longer and don't even check in or out).
