As ridiculous as it sounds to not list any cons. I think that this company has the same problems any other company has. Which isn't even a bad thing, there will always be problems... This company does not have any glaring problems that are bringing attention to.

Don't really have much advice. Not really in a position in my career to offer advice to management... Especially since I'm not in manage.ent

Not worth it
|
|
Amazing coworkers (at least the Broadcast Associates) that will be lifelong friends, enjoyed watching baseball
|
Where do I even begin? Working here was maybe the most belittling experience of my life. Dealing with the internal politics and borderline gaslighting at MLBN did serious damage to my self-worth.
Worst parts of the job:
- The 'braintrust' in charge of the schedules for BAs did so in a way that was completely inefficient, often with less than 48 hours between the release of a weekly schedule and my first shift. If you take any day off (even holidays) your hours are almost always cut. Keep in mind BAs spend nearly every weekend, year-round, in a depressing office in NJ, America's armpit.
- Often had to pay for two Ubers in one day because company shuttles from the train station simply didn’t arrive on time. Sometimes you had weekend shifts where no shuttles were even scheduled, and you had to ‘figure it out’ as far as getting to work i.e. spending an hour’s worth of pay just to get to work. Night shuttles leaving MLBN to NYC (anywhere from 11pm to 3am) were sometimes up to 45 minutes late.
- Employees are actively encouraged to only clock in eight hours, even if they are stuck in the office 30+ minutes extra due to MLBN shuttles simply not arriving when they should.
- Most BA’s get somewhere between 32-40 hours a week, but that’s only if they don’t request any days off, which is nearly impossible. Some people are able to request two days off and still get 40, so it’s inconsistent at best, and felt like blatant cronyism to many who worked alongside me.
- There's no consistency as far as which days you work, so it's impossible to even work another part-time job. In my first week of training, my entire group was told we'd always have 40 hours a week. Maybe they meant 40 hours a year. Keep in mind some people travel from outside the Tri-State area based on this promise, only to worry every week if the higher-ups will allow them to pay their bills.
- Work culture can feel like a glorified frat. Office kissups get rewarded sometimes on merit, but often on optics.
BONUS - They actually started charging $1 for their previously free (and always undrinkable) coffee between the hours of 8am-8pm. Cartoonishly cheap, and it came just months before they got rid of numerous underpaid, part-time workers.

Stop treating post-grads like they are children. Everyone who has spent enough time can see this place for what it is: a content factory that makes perfectly clear no matter how good you are at your job, you are totally replaceable. The minute you leave and find another job, you'll feel immense relief.
Manfred is a tool.

Not a good company to work for
|
|
Interesting at first, after awhile it gets too repetitive
|
A LOT of oversight and responsibility for the pay. All other Mlb jobs at the park make more money. The hours got cut yearly
