Talented team with extremely poor leadership

Good team. Nice office. Typical startup perks like lunch, snacks, good health insurance. Good office location. Free parking. Lots of capable engineers. Good place to work if you like gaming and gaming culture.

Many would describe the CEO as tyrannical, narcissistic, and borderline sociopathic. His ego and lack of empathy for his very talented team created a toxic environment with constant back-door discussions, endless political jockeying, and an overall sense of disempowerment and distrust among all those around and under him.
Direction and goals are constantly changed on a whim, and the lack of direction has not only hamstrung the product from gaining any meaningful traction, but also resulted in a huge chunk of the staff being let go in a "restructuring" (that's code word for, "We don't know what we're doing, and we're burning through too much investor cash. Let's fire everyone to slow down the company's inevitable demise").
The CEO has been excellent at selling a bridge to investors but has delivered flatlined results when it comes to making a product that isn't anything more than an anemic Twitch parody.
