I got to say it’s the field I love meeting new people i have great social skills I can connect with soo many people I learned a lot in the field I started at the bottom to work my way up to a Manager
|
It’s the pay rate I gained soo much knowledge but yet my take home pay it’s pretty close to where I started almost 5 years ago.

It's a place to stay when I needed it. Most of the time the manager/owner is ok. Kind of seems like his heart's in the right place. But then again I feel like the donkey pulling the cart with a carrot dangling in front of me. Working full-time I'm lucky if I get a $50 paycheck after 2 weeks after having to pay for my room. Not to mention I'm constantly asked to run places in my personal vehicle and I've never been offered any gas money ever. Coworkers are pretty nice but seem to want to act like there running something and tell me what to do. That bothers me because I could do their job easily but they could not do mine. I'm also asked to do housekeeping work constantly on top of my maintenance work the only thing I haven't had to do with run the office yet but I'm sure that day will come too.

No free room. Maintenance work when you live on site and are considered on call (which I have been called up after work more than once to do maintenance work) it is common practice to provide a free living space for on-site on call maintenance employees.

Free rooms for employees that choose to stay on site. It's convenient for the hotel management to have on site employees. Then the employees could actually have a paycheck and get ahead in life a little bit maybe. And when you don't have to count on somebody showing up from outside the motel because they're already there it just makes things easier
