Product development at Moula is driven by weekly sales figures and the whims of technically disengaged sales executives: design and strategic development suffer as a result.
Regularsexually explicit, inappropriate and uncomfortable 'jokes' and comments from middle and senior management
The front end is a hodge-podge legacy of Wordpress and Bootstrap with experimental ideas in Angular chucked in and pushed to Production. The customer facing website is stymied by a total lack of user experience leadership including:
- No discernible User Experience process in product development.
- Limited understanding of Human Centered design principals.
- Abject lack of basic UX implementation: no design sprints, no user story mapping, no defined user personas, no direction in user research and, vitally, no will to take responsibility for driving change in design, development and customer interaction.
- Confusing and ill-conceived product design/development pipelines: work is forced into sprints at the whim of a wide range of, at times inexplicable, stakeholders.
- a blame delegation culture which leads to chronic value hunting(i.e.: sitting on, or the handing back and forth of, tasks so as to appear busy whilst waiting for UX and marketing decisions; all of which are passed up the chain so as to shirk responsibility).
The back end is well organised, well maintained, secure and basically keeps the business afloat.

Good to see a modern "Fintech company" with perks such as team events, Friday drinks and other well organised social events and outings.
Moula is a rapidly growing company growth with lots of career and working opportunities.
Flexible work hours.
I was fortunate enough to have been in the company at the point the executive team are all hands-on, great seeing a company with the exes working closely to grow their company from 15 or so people to 30+.
These guys work hard and are passionate about what they're building, with a real hands-on approach to growing the company which filters down to make Moula a great place to work.
