No dress code - even jammies are ok. No awkward or rude hierarchy treatment. HR is awesome. They care about their employees and want them to be happy and don't want retention issues. They want you for the long haul if you're available. You're helping people. And the break room soda machine is top notch. You're working with clients who are gravely ill, in pain, or with family members who've recently lost a loved one too soon due to cancer caused by asbestos exposure. You often develop close relationships with the clients throughout their cases and they almost always die within a year. It's very emotionally taxing some days, not unusual to walk through the office and see someone crying at their desk. It's clear they all care about their employees and value work. Great benefits, extra luncheons, gifts, all the coffee and soda you need available for free in kitchen. Not a lot of opportunity to move positions internally. When there are positions, a lot of people go for them. Doesn't pay as well as other firms. This might have started out as a small firm wanting to help clients, but now it is just a large money hungry firm. There is a visible lack of diversity among the employees. If you are not a white heterosexual, you won't last long.
