No benefit unless you are a teacher with a teacher’s permit
Overall
The pay is minimum wage but they work and expect you to work the same as other people in higher positions but yet you only get pay minimum wage. Smh they need to pay more for all the training and remote work we have to do

Corrupt Culture
|
Administration falsifies numbers to maintain revenue. Employees are treated poorly and internal corruption is prevalent and well known. Incompetence in upper administrative roles facilitates a "good 'ol boys" network where data is often falsified for individuals to maintain control. Double standards exist throughout the institution and the majority of the employees live in fear of inadvertently crossing someone with power. Ethics are non-existent and transfer rates to higher institutions are below 30% with extremely high drop out rates. The culture exists to use students and falsify data to insure state revenue. Spending on campus is out of control but little makes its way to benefit students or employees.

|
A typical day in the tutoring center involved signing in and then checking for names on a whiteboard to help students. During downtimes, employees were allowed to talk amongst themselves in the break room or by the sign in desk as long as we weren't too loud.

I have to honestly say working for Mt. Sac was the best work experience i’ve ever had. They treat you with so much respect even if you’re a level one student assistant. The amount of discipline you receive helps you on your journey. My favorite part of working there was getting fed almost every day. It helped me in so many ways since I was a full-time student, I didn’t need to go out of my way to go to work to waste gas or spend money on food. It was all in one place including all of the connections you build. It’s worth spending time to build your career.
