Not only is the work meaningful, the staff is wonderful and completely dedicated to the cause. The work environment is collaborative and high-energy, something new happens every week. It is a small office which can be an adjustment for some. The management has made a concerted effort to invest in staff and chart career paths. I learned a lot through my internship. Many people on each of the teams are very good at their jobs and able to advise well. Some of the senior staff tend to try to overuse interns for things outside of their internships. They tend to look at interns as people who they can push their unwanted assignments onto. Mission focused. Casual dress. Great cause to work for. Dynamic industry. Good exposure to outside organizations. Great benefits for a nonprofit. Pay range is decent. Management is poor and inconsistent. Terrible lines of communications. Management always in meetings and talking about each other negatively. Seems like a positive place to work but management makes it toxic.
