Ask about the turnover rate during the interview process. Working for this organization is a HIGH risk endeavor
|
|
Florida weather and there's a nice mall across the street.
|
The fact that the most recent "five star" reviews are unthoughtful, incomplete sentences proves they're fake and shows how low management will stoop too.
Unfortunately, I didn't do my research before accepting a job with the Panthers and paid the price dearly. Everything you read in the most current reviews is 100% correct and are all in concurrence with a troubling time within the sales department dating back to early 2019 when the newest Director was hired.
Sports is a small world and accepting a job here could possibly ruin your reputation and career. If you accept a position with the Panthers, you will be inserted into a department of low morale and dictatorship. Soon, just like everyone else before you, you'll be reaching out to hiring managers from other sports organizations and your demise will ultimately occur when they do a background check which will include reaching out to the Panthers and asking why you were fired or quit.
You risk years upon years of experience and sacrifice becoming worthless if you work for this sales department. There is a reason why it is so easy to get a job with the Panthers compared to other sports teams - they're desperate and don't care about your future. They know if you don't abide by the laws of the land, without hesitation they'll mercilessly toss you aside just like everyone else before you.
Be patient and find another avenue to pursue when chasing your dreams of working in sports.

Conduct an internal review of the sale department’s procedures and practices. It is only a matter of time before legal action or a news story comes out and hinders all the progress the organization has made as a whole.

Save yourself the time and energy: DON’T apply here
|
|
Met some genuinely great people throughout my time with the team. Our hate for management definitely brought everyone together. Only bright spot from my time with the team.
|
Literally Everything.
Sales leadership is absolute garbage. Those in “power” are narcissistic and egotistical and will do anything they possibly can to work you to the ground. The way they handle situations on the sales floor is extremely counter productive. You can’t speak up about anything not unless you want to have a huge target on your back from that day forward or simply want to lose your job. Management picks a few favorites and give those few reps every single lead that comes in while others are left scrambling for them and then proceed to get questioned by leadership (if you can even call them that) when they don’t have the numbers they want. Micromanaging is their expertise. 2 managers that genuinely cared for their reps and wanted to change the toxic culture within the sales floor got let go during a PANDEMIC because they cared enough about their reps to bring up any issues they may have had to upper management. Brought in an a self absorbed “leader” that had absolutely no experience managing a group of people to lead a team that already had 2 managers. I wish I had the sufficient words to describe just how toxic the culture here was throughout my time with the team but anything I say would be an extreme understatement. You would think that going to HR and sharing these issues would fix the problem but instead they awarded those that were causing the toxicity with a promotion.
Since I started with the company more than 10 people left/were fired within 6 months. 15+ people voluntarily quit during a world pandemic simply because the organization only cares about themselves. Mind you most of these people left without a back up plan during a PANDEMIC. They would rather have no income than work for this organization. “Organization, team, self” is literally the motto they ingrained into every rep from the moment you started with the team. Hid COVID cases from employees and forced people back against their own will unless you wanted to be let go.
Barely any diversity on the floor, little to no women and those that were there were treated like garbage, no POC and barely any Spanish speakers (mind you the organization is in South Florida where there is the highest Latin population in the state). I was subjected to more than one in appropriate comment from leadership throughout my time with the organization, I’ve never worked with an organization that cares so little about their employees and will go out of their way to ridicule, insult and belittle their employees at all times.
Save yourself the headache and apply somewhere else.

Toxic Sales Environment - You’d Be Smart to Stay Away
|
|
Met some great people (who all got fed up and left) that I still keep in touch with.
Taught me how never to treat people.
|
They live and die by the motto “Organization > Team > Self” which sounds selfless and inspirational until they use it to justify every questionable decision and accuse you of not being bought in if you disagree. It would work if you weren’t made out to be a naysayer for trying to advocate for things that would make your job easier.
Every manager is self serving and the hypocrisy is so overwhelming that none of the reps trust them or respect them.
They try to control the message of everything - especially bad news - by giving reps different explanations for their decisions. Then they’re shocked that the reps talked to each other and called out the lie. For instance, word got out that management got paid full bonuses during the pandemic and the reps who qualified originally weren’t getting anything. Later on they told some reps that they would get 50% of their bonus and told other reps they only had a certain amount allotted in a “bonus pool” and paid them less of their bonus. Turns out they purposely paid those who had gotten promoted during the year less because they never had them sign new contracts and they were able to pay them 50% on their inside sales bonuses. Then when it was brought to management’s attention they said “you shouldn’t discuss your finances with other reps.”
They actively have tried to avoid paying commission on large deals and banned reps from selling inventory in certain areas because “the organization makes more money through Ticketmaster” which is counterintuitive to the whole practice of selling season tickets in the first place when you put it that way.
New Business, Service, and Groups stopped having collaborative meetings as a team and the reps were left to communicate amongst themselves for any policy updates or news (employees leaving).
Lead distribution is a farce. The majority of the success the company had during and post-NHL shutdown was through form submissions and inbound requests. It used to be an automated system but then management took it over directly and then distributed the leads to those they deemed to be deserving which is really just a popularity contest. Management oversight is fine but when one rep is complaining about too many submissions and one rep is complaining about literally not having any maybe you adjust.
Managers constantly would push off problems and avoid dealing with them, leaving reps to scramble.
The inside sales program has been a mess for years and they even laid off the guy getting it back on track.
They love to hold over the reps heads that we were able to keep our job during COVID times. When they reopened the office though, they sent out “an anonymous survey” to see how people would feel about returning to work. The anonymous survey required an electronic signature to complete and was a document stating we were willfully returning to the office and it was mandatory to complete.
Hired people with zero management experience to lead and train a team. The manager was paired with the team’s previous manager who had been demoted. The demoted manager and the reps created all the trainings over the course of a few months.
Sales is a grind and it’s competitive. You need to know going into it what to expect. It’s not for everyone and it doesn’t have to be all sunshine and rainbows and everybody having fun. But you don’t need to make everyone miserable.

I wasn’t going to write a review until I saw the company start posting fake 5 star reviews. Instead of spending time lying to the outside world try investing in your people that are there so they can advocate for you. That might keep you from losing over 50 people in just two years. It was a revolving door even before the pandemic too.
The sad part is some very talented and passionate people worked there and almost all of the departing people even before the pandemic chose to leave sports altogether.
Issues have been brought to HR and management and they responded by promoting the people causing the problems. I’m sure they’ll continue trying to sweep things under the rug but I do hope they can get out of their own way because the team and product on the ice might be the best it’s ever been. However when the team is doing well the sales will pick up and sales management will pump their own tires and say it was a successful year because of the team on the sales floor even though it’s more to do with what’s on the ice.
“Train people well enough so they can leave, treat them well enough, so they don’t want to.”

Management is a joke, all reviews on here are forged by upper management to save the ever sinking reputation of a terrible organization. They refused to pay bonuses to top earners. Forced sales people to pay back commission ... Stay away the grass is way greener any way else but here

The executives care a lot about the part time staff. If you make an effort to network, there is a lot of room to grow.

During the season, the hours can be crazy; but, that is the nature of sports.
