Overall Good Experience but Sadly They Downsized and Moved.

I worked at the Toronto location for approximately six months (2016-2017) calling people in the United States to participate in surveys. That was until everyone, including me, was let go and the company was moved to Burlington, Ontario. I was working the day shift. I felt stressed working under the day time Supervisor and the Asian Supervisor. During the evening shift I did much better because I worked well with the Supervisor who was usually on during that time.

Easy job & not boring if you have the right mind set. Had reliable work everyday.

Being a Market Research interviewer isn't always reliable work.

Horrible Management The decision makers are completely inept.
|
This company has been bought out 3 times within 2 years. Every one of the management is in a "Save my own job at the cost of others" mode. No one here will stand up for you or have your back if things go awry. They will throw you under the bus, then back up and hit you again just to make sure. Competency in Management is not needed to succeed here. You just need to be a mindless drone and you will be placed into Management. It also helps if you are one of the "Good 'ol White Boys". No joke, check out the entire Management structure.

Good people and well experienced

Lots of maintenance on boats and gear, good learning from all aspects, some very experienced personal and interesting drills and education available. And a variety of tasks, none too long, so the job is interesting.

Interesting place to work
|
Overall has been a good place to work. Overtime and on call services make the majority of annual pay. Prevailing wage projects will also help boost your annual pay. On the flip side, jobs are not always on a “normal” schedule. Don’t expect to go home the same time everyday, or to not have to change plans often to accommodate providing an emergency response to a client. If you can get used to that, you will do well

Very few pluses to working here!!!

PROS: Very accommodating with time off and scheduling vacation. Employees are great.
CONS: Management. The worst I have every encountered. They show no respect to employees. Recognition for hard work never given. Same goes for raises. However write ups are handed out freely, without looking into situation first!

No care for the people who make up the company

I worked very hard at NRC and received nothing in return. Reviews are basically meaningless. There is no room for career progression within the company. No training what so ever.
The hardest part of the job was watching my co-workers struggle to make ends meet while coming to work everyday to bust their a** and still get s**t on by management.
